Will Deledio be elite?

No, read the assessment again. He is good. Will be great. But not a Hall of Famer.

Would love him at the Blues, quality player and would probably torch 90% of our list for talent, but he's not elite and would need to step up a fair way before he is in the same bracket as Kerr/Ablett/Judd/Rob Harvey etc.

You just got the black and yellow blinkers on Cogga. :D

:)Never fear J-Train.

He's not elite yet....but he will be.

When talking class at Tigerland, it's down to Lids and Brown and that is it!

No player is elite until they have mastered every facet of the game. That includes kicking (on both feet) handballing (both hands) standing up in a tackle and dishing the ball off to a team mate, tackling (so that their opponent doesn't dish the ball off to a team mate), kicking accurately for goal, summing up a situation and executing how best their presence will benefit the team, very rarely turning the ball over, spoiling the ball when they are out of position in a contest and keeping their feet when the ball hits the deck.

I'm not sure any player in history is elite under your conditions then.

Exactly.

Judd is a freak. And was almost elite from day one. Deledio has been played some brilliant games this season. He has the potential to become elite but it might take another 2 or 3 years. Look at Hodge he has been in the system 6 years and is probably on verge of becoming elite. So lets give lids the same amount of time.

It is very unfair to rate Lids with Judd as you so rightly state. If all young midfielders with pace are compared to the freak eagle no-one will measure up. Deledio will be a sensational player, up with the best in the league. His development has surely been slowed somewhat with the poor team he has played with since he started. Could you imagine how he would be rated if he had played the last 2 seasons on a wing for the Eagles?

Goldust! :) I knew it would only be a matter of time before you showed up to defend your golden boy! haha.

Your mate Cogga is a bit high strung. :o

The Tigers have some other players with class....I think Tivendale is classy, much like Hoops Houlahan is classy for us...great skills...no heart! :D

Did you see that my Dream Team gave the Winking Lizards a hiding...my second win for the season. haha.:D:thumbsu:

thats a good thing dude. All tigerheads to a man, hope and pray that opposition coaches and brains trust, hold him in the same esteem as you. Do your team a favour, get into Pagan's ear and demand that he fills the side with class and to get Tivendale ASAP. Please...;)

far out dude. If you can suggest I have the yellow and black blinkers on, then god only knows what a madtiger or a few others here have on then.
I mean, like Goldust suggests, Lids and Brown, add Polo and Polak and that is about the end of the section when it comes to class at tigerland. You see, it all boils down to what a player's 100% effort provides. Players that have to bust a butt week in week out, can in no way keep 100% effort going. But the good ones can produce 60% and their 60% is 100% better than mosts 100%. Give me players that stand out with 60% effort, and you can keep the try hards that have to maintain 100% just so they maintain their careers. We have had a motza of those kind of dudes. The classic is chaffey. 150+ gamer who tried hard and got a game. 150+ games for that matter. Woopee doo, he played an integral part in our halcyon years. ;)
