52-30.

That was the Magic record this year.

I'm still waiting for the lockout negotiations to finish. Owners are pushing hard for a new Allan Houston rule which enables them to pay out dead weight and not be effected by the cap. If that happens you can say bye bye to Hedo / Gilbert.

If not we still have tradeable pieces in JJ, Bass, Nelson. My theory is that he will sign a 2 year extension. If no success than a 28y.o Dwight will walk.
Jim Buss calls up and says

"Otis, I heard the press conference where Dwight threatens to leave. He's taken LeBron's last year to another level, openly stating he will leave if he doesn't win. These overpaid whiny bitches right? Do they not realize we spend a billion bucks keeping this machine rolling around one person?

One time offer, we will never speak of it again to avoid hurting the fragile egos on my team:

Lamar + Andrew Bynum plus draft picks for your guy, who is walking.

What do you say?"

I doubt Otis deals. Odom is an old man and Bynum is fragile. Draft pick from Lakers with Dwight + Kobe = very late. It's not a very good deal

Jim Buss: "We'll talk again, after Dwight puts LA on top of his trade list in 6 months shall we?

"Good luck leveraging Landry Fields and Chauncey Billup's corpse against our offer"

You don't think the lure of getting Dwight overrides that?

Surely common sense overrules personal agendas when we are talking about one of the five best players in the world. Lakers are all about the superstar. Dwight is. Bynum is not.

It's all hypothetical bs anyway.

I know Otis doesn't have the balls of say, a Kevin O'Connor of Utah, to pull the trigger. He's backed himself into a corner with his Gilbert Arenas personal reclamation project and he will pay the price soon.

i agree with ya, personally id be selling the magic hard on a bynum package if possible if i were the lakers.

but jim seems like the kind of douche to prove something to his dad at the expense of common sense.

Speculation has ended.

Orlando has confirmed the transfer of Dwight Howard to Manchester United.

Dwight Howard to leave Orlando after record breaking transfer to Manchester United.

It seems as if an unexpected turn has popped up in the never-ending Dwight Howard speculation (except Ric Bucher…he knew, and just hadn’t reported it yet, of course). At a press conference held for a small media contingent early this morning, it was announced that Dwight Howard will be leaving the Orlando Magic and joining the Manchester United Football Club.

Dwight stated:

This was an easier decision than most of you might think, especially considering the copious amounts of money I will now be bathing in. My goal for my entire career has been to win a championship and joining Man U gives me the best chance to do so.”

I think the world wide backlash to Lebron's decision means DwiGht won't be a prick and bail off to the LA scum as a free agent. He strikes me as the type of bloke who wants to be adored en masse and he'd lose his massive fan base if he went to the putrid purple and gold goat shaggers or Poo York. I think the decision has helped out Orlando bigtime, he'll re-sign as long as they fire Ron Jeremy lookalike, Stan the Man, he is an unbelievably bad coach

I also dont think he's the type of guy he'll leave if they manage to sign another half decent player, however they have to have a better gameplan then a bunch of hot and cold shooters hitting the three whether they are sinking them or not

Orlando Magic all-star center Dwight Howard, publicly addressing his long-term future for the first time, told the Sentinel on Monday that he'd love to finish his career in Orlando.

As long as Orlando wants him, he says.

"It is an interesting question," Howard said. "You know what? I'll be here as long as the fans want me to be here. They have a lot of do with it."

That's pretty much all I have to say.
