I hope that this doesn't happen.

But lets act responsible and think logical for once.

Can Eddie Betts last at AFL level? Sadley I don't think he can. I know he has got off to a good start and all, but I think other sides will wake up to him.

He is just what we need in the forward line, but knowing Carlton he will be delisted within 2 years and go down as another one time wonder.

Let's just think sensible... can he last at Carlton? How many years can he play? Will he continue to kick 2 -3 goals a game? Is he to small? Will other teams wake up to him?

Brett Backwell rings a bell in my head, he was a small player and looked really promising. He soon found himself delisted, even after winning the best VFL player award a few years ago. Now he gets named best a fair bit for some SANFL side.

Personally, he's done nothing but impress me so far in the 3 games he's played ... maybe we should wait a bit longer till questioning his future.

He needs a couple of SEASONS, not a couple of games  Crikey! We really need a crumbing forward a la Steve Milne (just a lot smarter ;) ) to sit at the feet of Fev and Lance - I just hope he might be the one. Give him a go!

You gota be kidding me! He's so smart he plays on when he could of had a set shot.

:D :D :D Read carefully - I did say smarter than Milne! Mind you, it would be hard to be dumber....

I still say we need crumbers at the foot of the pack - Eddie could be the go!

Will struggle with his body frame to see this seaosn out.

His future will depend on how many strings he has to his bow when asked to do different things.

He does though seem to have more of a defensive side to his game than say a Milne or Davis.

Give him a full preseason and AFL experience and i think he will make it for a few years at the club no worries.

can he last? Of course he can. Have u seen the pressure this guy puts on the opposing defenders? **********, he's like a bull terrior. He will chase down and kill anyone within 20-30 metres of him......eg wizzer cup first game.....3rd or 4th quarter. i have no doubt he will make the forward pocket his own....aswell as become a quality temp midfielder.

I don't know WHY people are writing him off already.

It's his job to kick 2 - 3 goals a game, and he's doing it. And look at where he is on our goal tally list compared to our "big guns" Fevola and Whitnall.

He's done very well for a 17 year old who has only played 3 games. Geez, give him a break, but most importantly, give him some time.
