They haven't won any final in what, 8 years? Its a long season and finals are a different ball game..

BTW the answer is No.

We obviously have very different definitions of top end talent. Cough Waite, Henderson, Yarran.
Suprised you havent mentioned Geelong in the best top end talent, has hatred of the club affected your decision?
We obviously dont have as much star power as Carlton but we definitely do have some.

You mentioned Pears, Bellchambers and Crameri as "star power" before. But yet Waite, Henderson & Yarran aren't? Henderson is in All Australian form this year, whilst Pears struggles to get on the park and has never produced consistently good form. Crameri has had a good start to the year, but Waite is still a better player. Bellchambers has come on pretty good this year, but he is hardly a star after a few good games.

You definitely do have some "star power" and "top end talent", but Carlton are stacked with it.

Not sure the Eagles fans were "bronx cheering" Kerr let season.

Henderson is shit then, right?

Because I could have sworn 35,000 people bronx cheered him in Rd 4 last year. The other 35,000 were shattered that he went off because he was probably Essendon's best player up until that point.

Please tell me where I said they were star power

Kerr played a cracking final against Carlton. You can't say the same for Stanton.

Stanton has had a fantastic season and a great back end to last year, but don't try and rewrite history.

Rewriting history, only an idiot would say Kerr has been better than Stanton over the past couple years.

Lol star power.

Spare me the bullshit.

Players don't automatically become "star power" (whatever the **** that is).

Players need to develop and make a name for themselves. Most of our players haven't made a name for themselves yet.

We're 6 rounds into this season, this season isn't finished yet for our current team to be judged on "star power".

If Essendon were to somehow finish top 5 or top 4, the reputation of our kids will sky rocket. That's how much of a finish to a season impacts on the image of a team.

This year's team could be completely different to the year before, but you wouldn't know it unless you let the season finish. That's why using the "star power" excuse this early in the season as a reason for a mediocre finish is so ridiculous because you never know who'll bop up and improve beyond expectations.

In fact, so far, most of our kids have done just that - which is completely contradictory to use such a reason to argue the opposite.

Some might say the Bombers need to fill in a few spots to contend for the flag in a few years - but some might also say that the players we need are on the list already, they just haven't upped the ante yet.

For the record, our flag chances this year are low - but to say we won't challenge for a flag in the coming years because of the current perspective of our kids?

Essendon are the most inform team in the league, injuries galore and still smashing teams, the depth they have is nothing short of stunning. They will win the flag easily and are setup for a decade of domination, its all in the cold hard stats.

Essendon always jump out of the blocks like Bolt then fall off after about round 9.We should ask never to play them in round 4 as we never beat them then. Tended to reverse recently come round 19 big time with some real shellackings.

May not be the same this time but that's been the recent pattern. Before judging them I'll wait to see if the pattern to breaks first

Then it will be pretty easy to point out many examples of when this has been the case?

Even last year we only had 2 wins after round 5.

FYP. Hendo is better than any defender Essendon have on their list at the moment.

now I've officially heard it all.

Lachlan Henderson is a better player than Dustin Fletcher.

Wow. Just wow.

Fletcher rarely takes the best forward and that's why he has only had one All Australian in a decade. Right now, as we speak, Fletcher couldn't shut down star KPFs like Henderson can consistently. Hendersons run and carry is also very underrated. Fletcher was great in his day, but Henderson is a much better one on one defender now. Not taking anything away from Fletch, but Henderson has went past him as a player this year.

Always? You seem to be well informed, can you tell which years. You're really only basing it on last year aren't you.

You do realise how a pattern works right?

you are selling carlton way too short. they were flag favorites after round 4 for a very good reason - they smashed the brave tigers, lions and a clearly dominant and in form collingwood. they were a bit dissapointing vs the bombers, but I was extremely impressed with their junk time efforts when the game was already lost and essendon had shut up shop.
as long as carlton can keep slammin sam away from murphy the premiership is theirs for the taking.
and how could i forget kroooozer! a shoe in for AA this year, so i heard from some carlton supporters i know.
