OK now I have worked out what you are saying; over the last 3 years if Kerr was out injured Stanton was be better than him. At the middle of last year Stanton was considered by most people to be a B grader.

Kerr was a massive factor in why WC were top 4 last year. Essendons below average midfield was why Essendon lost more games than they won over the last 3 years.

Both would be Hawks best defender quite easily, but that's a moot point.

Round 1,2,4,6 this year, nearly all second half games last year. Now go on, tell me when Heppell has played badly in the midfield and done bad, or were you just making stupid statements like a stupid person.
When Hepp has been injected into midfield he has done well and that should continue.

Do you have any evidence for why dempsey, a taller more defensive minded player, is better than yarran a half back flank rebounder, more of a deep midfielder than a backman. They play different roles regardless of the fact yarran is clearly better.

You obviously don't watch enough Essendon games.

Yarran's only weapon is his "speed", whilst he lacks in disposal efficiency and hard ball gets. All of which Dempsey either matches or exceeds. Opening up the play and making it hurt is one of his specialties.

He rebounds and attacks just as much as anyone in Carlton's backline. His form has been highly underrated thus far and is by far one of our most important player and one of our best decision makers in defense.

He didn't play in Round 5 due to an injury, but was one of our stand-outs against Brisbane, which is also a testament to his resilience and ability to come back into form quite quickly. In fact, he was in form last year before going down to a full-blown ACL in Round 4. This is something that you can't say for Yarran, who's been disappointing thus far. Yarran is so incredibly overrated it's not even funny.

Of course not. Especially when opposition posters are talking about Essendon.

Nobody needs reminding that this thread wasn't even started by an Essendon supporter but it will be the first point of reference used when we lose our next game about how all Essendon supporters are "delusional" and "getting ahead of themselves", just like how all Essendon supporters were booing Brent Stanton last year.

I can see us being in a very healthy position come the midway point of the season but we will certainly lose a couple of games prior to then, and you can bet your last dollar we will be inundated with thread after thread and post after post with the "I told you so! Essendon burn out every year" line.

As long as we're still considered a list of overachieving B & C-grade plodders who burn out every single year and all our wins are down to other sides "not being at their 100% peak", then I'm pretty content. They'll be learning the hard way.

If nobody runs with him and Essendon win the clearances then he will dominate. If Essendon don't win the clearances he's pretty useless as all seagulls are.

Can't tell if trolling or just ignorant... on the Henderson point. Him and Jamo are amongst the best spine players in the comp.

On the Yarran point, he has excellent disposal, speed and smarts.
I watch almost every game of football each weekend.
I suppose uou as a Don supporter believes "Dempsey" is "good" and i as a Carlton supporter believe Yarran is great but i think the majority of the informed public and media would back my point...
