Strange how he has has had so many concussions, never seen a player get that many in a short space of time.

Is it how he plays or approaches a contest?

Anyway, I do hope he is alright and would be gutted if he doesn't come back from this.

Anyone getting worried about the number of concussions?

Yes.
What annoys me is that it’s been caused by a player, Ladhams, who pushed another player, Murray, into a contest with Murray then having no control going into that contest.

Pushing players into congestion like that is very dangerous and has to be stamped out.

Playing this bloke after 8? concussions is far more negligent than anything that went on in the camp.

Not really, it's Hamill livelihood and realistically, he's going to earn more money playing AFL then working in the "real world".

If he's good enough, and there isn't medical staff saying pull the pin, may as well keep going at it.

What’s the club meant to do ?
Depends what the medical reports on his countless concussions? There are lots of them, and surely a club doctor sits back and says, hang on. I think we’ve seen enough.

The club in the best interests of player welfare needs to pay out his contract.

Yeah it’s unfortunate for the kid, he’s only young , but that many concussions is a concern. I’ve said it before that I hoped he wore a helmet (although I know it may not do much) but surely a helmet is better than nothing .

He just seems unlucky to be in the wrong place at the wrong time.
I wouldn’t be against paying out his contract and suiting him up in the Claude the crow outfit

This should solely be on the medicos decision and giving Will the understanding of the risks involved. Also you don’t just count the number of head knocks and equate it to the severity of his head wounds.

You see hundreds of head knocks in boxers throughout their careers and not all of them will lead to chronic issues. Conversely, it may just take one serious head knock and that may spell the end of a boxer’s career.

The good news with Will’s knock today was that he got up and able to walk out the ground. Usually a sign the concussion was at a mild level.

Hopefully he's alright and can have a run like Angus Brayshaw has had since he had a heap early on.

Concussion protocols again for Will.

Surely we have to make the call here. Negligent if we allow him to go on in my opinion.

While this is probably the case, one of the area's the club is due some credit is taking this appropriately seriously (as opposed to our neighbours) and obtaining all appropriate advice and forming an opinion in the best interests of the player.

We have no reason to believe that they won't work out what's best for Will and his health regardless of other factors.

I like Will. I think he has a lot to offer. He has just had a bad run. Should he get delisted? Yes. Its a tough call but it would probably do us and him some good to get away from the pressure of AFL footy and he can develop his game if he can at Sanfl level. It opens up a spot for us where if he can regain his form we can rookie list him later on.

Such potential. :(

Will has to be sensible here but how do you convince a young guy to give up such amazing income for a young bloke, and tell him to start looking for another career that's gonna pay nowhere near what he's getting now.

Thats where the club needs to advise him along with his manager.
