I know what you mean, but it's just the nature of professional sport. In soccer and basketball it's really common for blokes to get named in the team and just sit on the pine for games on end before they eventually get subbed in for a few minutes in a game.

Agree, but i think Lipinski replacing Sidebottom makes a lot of sense and that Hayes is more likely to be sub. Not ideal, but we do still have to pick our best team.

It used to be half backs, but small forwards have become our specially in the draft, so the chances of Hayes being a good AFL player are over 90%. He has an exciting set of attributes.

I don’t think it was unrealistic to think he may have been sub if Bobby was playing. Glad he’s gonna get a proper debut.

Hayes has not really looked ready for AFL from what I have seen in the VFL. He is so slight and a bit slow as well.
