My guess is because he’s young and light bodied. I think Fly wanted to get a feel for how it all works with the older brigade, as that’s who’ll be lining up in 10 days time.
Dave is referring to the vfl practice game this morning. He only played a half. I didn't spot him after half time.

I think in this case Fly saying someone has similar agility to Bobby is a bit different to saying 'he's the next Bobby Hill'
And he isn't wrong. Has a lot of the same attributes. He's quick. Evasive. Very smart and high IQ. Composure, great skills. One thing he has extra that bobby doesn't have, not that he needs it for his position is endurance.
This kid has been up there in the time trial and yoyo tests.

It makes you wonder why another team didn't snaffle him before he got to us - maybe because there's nothing of him.
I'm very happy we drafted him - you could see how much it meant to him in his draft night video.

I think we were just lucky the draft was deep enough that players like him and west slipped through

Like him. I can see exactly why he slipped through to our picks.... given he had an injury affected U18's season.... but yet still managed to a decent showing at he U18 Championships and won the Premiership with Claremont Colts as a wingman.

His assets are decision making, speed and endurance combo, and agility. These traits are perfectly suited to the role of a modern wingman at AFL level. Yes, his frame is light, and another reason why he slid down the draft order, but clearly has some outstanding attributes that are well documented. Clear potential as an AFL wiger / high half-forward given his pace/endurance combo as well as agility.

Again patience is needed as Bobby Hill didn't explode onto the scene, but took 4 - 5 years.... as did Josh Daicos.

I feel like Fly's final instruction to Hine and Derek's final gift to the Pies was to go out and find another Bobby Hill.

Hopefully means we not Losing Hill

Will needs another stone on and then he will ready to go and when gets there he will not be leaving. He has some x factor this boy, have we extended his contract because we should both WC and Freo will come for this boy, he has the skills to play now the only thing lacking is the necessary size but maybe after another pre season he may be ready.

Whoever it was that picked West,Hayes and Cochrane picked 3 boys who I think will play a lot of football together for Collingwood and with some of these NGA and FS coming through we will be well placed.

With HH coming back and Long looking like he could make the grade things look rosy.
