Will Hayward
Spritely Sydney Swans forward Will Hayward enjoyed a rocketing start to his career as he became the 11th-youngest player in the AFL era to reach 50 career goals in 2018. The 2016 draftee’s nippy pace and cunning goal awareness have made him a dangerous option in coach John Longmire’s forward line. A broken jaw and a persistent hip injury limited Hayward to just 12 goals in 13 senior games in 2019, but the South Australian is attacking the 2020 campaign on the back of his first full pre-season. Don’t be surprised if the exciting Swan finds himself on a wing this year.

Will Hayward
DOB: 26 October 1998
DEBUT: 2017
DRAFT: #21, 2016 National Draft
RECRUITED FROM: Walkerville (SA)/North Adelaide (SANFL)

Is everyone on yet? :p
I've been on since we recruited him. He is still only 18 and slightly built but does magic things already. Has "gun" written over so many things he does, was a recruiting coup.

Has such fantastic footy awareness and goal sense I reckon the difficult thing next year on is whether to leave him deep or slide up permanently to the wing. What a nice dilemma to have!

Rising Star this week you'd reckon.

Will be targeted heavily by the two SA clubs.
Was pretty quick to sign an extension. I reckon he loves it at the swans. I have no doubts he will be a one club player. Just has loyalty written all over him.

Probably has himself a nice little desk in horses office too. No way he leaves

Hayward is growing in confidence...just 18 years old!

Having him and Pappers up front is adding a lot to out forward line.

As Hayward's confidence grows , so will his impact on games.

Could be a 200 gamer?

Kid is a dead set gun.
Always seems to have time to size up his options.
And he can kick. Woohoo, we've got someone that can kick.

Him and Florent both have time and make space for each other, that's what sticks out to me. Real skill.

I'm very interested to see what he looks like in March 2018. How much weight will they try to get him (and Florent for that matter) to put on over the summer

Luke Ryan had a second consecutive game where he tallied up some impressive stats. Will be a tough call between the two for the Rising Star nom

Ryan almost broke the record for intercept marks in a game.
