Will Hayward
Spritely Sydney Swans forward Will Hayward enjoyed a rocketing start to his career as he became the 11th-youngest player in the AFL era to reach 50 career goals in 2018. The 2016 draftee’s nippy pace and cunning goal awareness have made him a dangerous option in coach John Longmire’s forward line. A broken jaw and a persistent hip injury limited Hayward to just 12 goals in 13 senior games in 2019, but the South Australian is attacking the 2020 campaign on the back of his first full pre-season. Don’t be surprised if the exciting Swan finds himself on a wing this year.

Will Hayward
DOB: 26 October 1998
DEBUT: 2017
DRAFT: #21, 2016 National Draft
RECRUITED FROM: Walkerville (SA)/North Adelaide (SANFL)

when he gets some size ooohh boyy... good signs early, looks to have really listened to the coaches (forward pressure focus) and his tank looks to have improved rapidly from before draft night... was stoked when weagles went venables, making PA go powell-pepper instead

Seriously impressive tonight, especially his second half when he was one of our better players, even when under the pump. Appears to have a cool, calm footy head on him as well.

I hope we show faith in him, Florent and Newman and give them all good cracks at it.

One of the posters on our board knows someone pretty well within the club (was told months before the draft we'd take Petrevski-Seton) and they reckon Hayward was right on our radar for Pick 5 as well.

Picks the ball up really well, has a nice kick and seems to position himself really well inside the 50 too. Should have had a couple of goals.

Very impressive debut.

Very good debut. Pretty happy for him and the other boys in their first game. He looked great and looks to have worked on his endurance and physicality a little since I last saw him (in SA). In both JLT & this game he's run out the game better than I thought he would.

It's a long season so I don't expect him to be in all year but bloody wrapped for him and think he holds his spot based on that performance.

Early days suggest you nailed this pick. Some players just look like they belong even when they're 18.

Looks a natural. Excited to see what he can do when we start playing well.

I was happy to take him at 10 let alone 21. Absolute steal.

Yeah, only because those that did probably play draft based UF games. Have to read up every bit of info that you can on players for that as its make or break in your keeper draft leagues. His stats were special as a kid.
