Will Hayward
Spritely Sydney Swans forward Will Hayward enjoyed a rocketing start to his career as he became the 11th-youngest player in the AFL era to reach 50 career goals in 2018. The 2016 draftee’s nippy pace and cunning goal awareness have made him a dangerous option in coach John Longmire’s forward line. A broken jaw and a persistent hip injury limited Hayward to just 12 goals in 13 senior games in 2019, but the South Australian is attacking the 2020 campaign on the back of his first full pre-season. Don’t be surprised if the exciting Swan finds himself on a wing this year.

Will Hayward
DOB: 26 October 1998
DEBUT: 2017
DRAFT: #21, 2016 National Draft
RECRUITED FROM: Walkerville (SA)/North Adelaide (SANFL)

What a ****ing joke. The kid had 3 disposals for 3 goals in a team that smashed us - the opponent.
He doesn't deserve a nomination ffs.

Thank the lord that you read about it, dashed onto bigfooty went to the opposition board just to tell us that

Phew thanks heaps

Btw when did he get his goals? In any and what part of the first half, when the game was on?

when was the game on, its carlton, we had it won when the fixture came out

But surely you think that it's nonsense?
Btw the Swans are my second team. So I'm not anti the Swans - just the dumbf*** AFL.

I dont really care who gets nominations, he deserves one this year, he got one, wasnt his best game, but take a chill pill.

I agree its an odd week but oh well, could argue he was robbed other weeks

Mcgrath or whoever will win anyway and if you are not anti sydney maybe make the case with more respect?

I'd say it was likely a vote for his overall yearly performance. Has been many games he deserved a nomination but was just overlooked for another kid that played well that week.

It really doesn't matter anyway. No one in this board would honestly expect him to win it. It's a nice feather in his cap though.

You won it when the fixture came out? Really. Then, as Poorlean would say, Please Explain your loss to us earlier this season!
I suggest that you think before typing and posting.

It wasn't stated with a lack of respect for Sydney. Sydney didn't make the decision. The AFL did and the remark was directed to it.
But if he has played well in other games then, all things considered, he may have deserved it.
By the way make sure that you thump Essendope next week!

It's the final nomination for the year so they've basically just gone for someone who hadn't been nominated yet but deserved one. There'd be another 5-6 players in that category, but hard to argue Hayward hadn't done enough this year to deserve a nomination.

Looks silly because he had only had 3 kicks this week, but they do bang on about "body of work" a lot. He's had a great year.

I thought that Pickett deserved it over Hayward tbh.

Pickett lol

For doing what? Tripping over himself 5m out from goals and making himself look like someone from the Three Stooges?

Hayward should have got one a month ago!
