Rumour Will he be a HAWk

What a great succession plan potentially. Buddy out, Shoey=Fwd. Next year Lake out, Frawley in. Following year Gibson out = Shoey back, Tim O'Brien etc in. Hale out = Grimley in.

If not then we can do much the same with Heatherly rather than Frawley. With names like Shem and Brand coming through as well.

When they want to wait, that is usually a problem.

Every team is going to be into him.

Our defensive stocks are pretty good at the moment.
Lake(32) could go into 2015.
Gibson(30) will go into 2015.
Schoenmakers(23) takes one key post.
Spangher(26) has proven to be reliable depth and seems to be over his injuries that he had at WCE/SYD.
Litherland(21) & Kelly(21) should be ready to take the next step by then.
Brand(20) & Heatherley(19) are developing. Graham Wright has said it's only a matter of time before Heatherley plays seniors.

I'd go for a Richard Douglas at the end of this year. Under the radar and we wouldn't have to break the bank, but will fill a need, especially if Burgoyne retires. 27 year old Midfielder/Utility, who is a free agent at the end of 2015. Could work out a Lake type trade for him. Averaged 22 disposals and just under a goal a game last year. Impressed with his skills and pace over the years.

Less possies, marks, rebounds from 50 , tackles and clearances, why exactly ?

It's not all about the stats... but in terms of being able to defend against an opponent in a 1:1 contest, Talia is better in that area and he's much younger then Frawley too and would be an ideal fit for our team going forward. There's nothing wrong with Frawley at all, he's a quality defender. If given the choice though I'd pick Talia. I just think he will end up being the better defender in the future.

Personally only advantage I see is age, frawley has an aa on his cv already, I know he gives jack a real hard time whenever we play melb , can only assume he has a credible record on all decent key towards

I work with a bloke pretty well connected to haw , soon as buddy departed he told me $$ would remain free in the cap in order to make way for frawley come FA, looks to me things are falling into place,

Haw, haw.

So do I.

He genuinely just wants to see how Melbourne performs this year, and if there's a light at the end of the tunnel.

I doubt he'll be a Hawk. We haven't spoken to him and he isn't one of the many players that have asked their managers to approach Hawthorn.

Not worth getting our hopes up.

I frequent an Internet forum with a bunch of guys, lots of who have sources close to the team I support. Those sources with dish out a lot of misinformation or they aren't as "close" as they claim...

Well this bloke did tell me buddy was gone to Sydney about this time last year, pretty fair strike rate

If Frawley does come to us, hopefully he's not irreversibly damaged from his time at Melbourne, he might not gel with a 'winning culture', hell... he might not even remember what winning is!

Good post... look at Rivers against us in the PF. He was like a deer in the headlights when the game was on and you could tell that he had no idea how to perform and what to do to win in a situation like that.
