Will It Change In 2007...........

Alright mate, fair enough. Just as aside, it's not all doom and gloom. Whilst I don't believe we are a genuine premiership chance, i'm looking forward to watching the development of the likes of VB, Knights, Griffen, Pfeiffer, Douglas, Maric etc. My main disappointment will be if Roo can't make it back and we're stuck with a forward line consisting of the likes of one of many combinations of Perrie, Welsh, Bock and McGregor. Ahh well, you can't have everything.

I feel much the same springy and that is my outlook for 2007 and beyond, the developement of the kids.................as the same with you the forwardline is of major concern, but that doesnt mean AFC members cant go along to every home game and not be passionate and enthusiatic.

Im not sure there is a poor atmosphere at AAMI, which was my main issue with whats being said.

I can accept the rest of it though, it never hurts for us to go that extra yard. Im doing all i can to support the team at games at the moment, with my banner, and screaming till i lose my voice. :thumbsu:

Good on you mate and just encourage those around you:thumbsu:

I will be firing up in Bay 2350 on Sunday, disapoints me when I can hear my own voice just when the team needs the support of their fans.
Have been doing my bit since 1992,last season had a pair of idiots in front of me said I was spoiling their day would have been much better if they had stayed away.

Every year the Crows supporters get younger so the crowd gets louder. We can all do our bit to speed up the process. It is important however to make it a positive experience for the kids and people around you. If someone complains about the noice then tell them nicely to **** off  or get with the program.

I will be doing my bit in the Northern Grandstand. Can't wait for the new screen, that will help us up there aswell. More atmosphere. Ready to explode :D :thumbsu:

i'll be in that stand as well bud, row AA :D:D
if we can get the crowd in that stand fired up the noise coming from under there is awesome :thumbsu:

sick of the cardboard cutouts there who whinge at you for being passionate about your team or hacking on the oppostion

I'm going to leave my knitting at home for this game, i'm feeling quite daring. Jesus Macca, you've been a bag of laughs over the summer. I'm guessing you're English?

Don't laugh.... at the 98 Grand Final - im sitting at the MCG about 6 rows from the front just right of the point posts and this woman is sitting in front of me KNITTING!!! Every time I made a noise (which was fairly often :o ) she would look behind at me as if to say "how DARE you!". I told her what I thought of her knitting! UNBELIEVABLE!

Those when you could just pull out a gun and shoot someone you didn't like. :o

Didn't know you were a Denver Broncos fan Marky? You don't mess with us. ;)

On a slightly more serious note though, I still think we need to embrace the motto of the Denver fans - Loud and Proud. They used to have a huge sign that hung over the end zone with that on it as a reminder to all the fans that that is why they were at the game.

I've given up with the idiots in my area just meet my mates in the bar after half time more atmosphere there.

The reason the crowd is so quiet is that no one's drunk.

Alcohol = noise

Some people scream and barrack loudly when they're stone cold sober but the vast majority need a few ales to lose their inhibitions, as anyone who goes to Adelaide Oval for the test match will attest to.

Yes you can leave your seat, go to the bar, line up for ages, return to your seat with a plastic cup of warm beer and you've only missed a mere 25 minutes of action but who is realistically going to do that? Plus you have to drive home afterwards.

When they redevelop the eastern grandstand they should have a bar facing the ground with a heap of standing room in front of it so that people can drink and watch. Cue the noise, colour, singing, sledging, cup wars - all the elements that make for a good atmosphere. Of course it will never happen and it will always be a family environment with the same intensity as a family picnic.

No, while I follow the Bengals, I do like the fans of the Browns however.

In their old stadium they had an end called the dog pound and especially when it snowed, there they were all without their tops on.

Now that's what I call loud and proud.

Now that's where we are going to have an argument. You don't need to get pyssed to barrack. I don't see the sense in wanting to drink all the time at a football match. I go to watch and barrack, I don't need that.

I have a few before and after while waiting for everyone to get out.

Cricket matches are different in that your sitting in the sun all day.
The environment is such that you can move around and get up and go to the bar all the time without too much hassle.

If they bought back drinking at the seats that would be a disaster due to the confines of the seating. A stadium is not conducive to people getting up and spoiling for others.

If you want to drink all day go to the bar.:thumbsu:

I agree, if you need to drink to barrack then did you really have the passion in you to start with????? I very rarely drink at the footy, but still know how to barrack, you have to have the passion within, and I thought if you buy a membership you are passionate about your footy club and as AFC are 90% members and 40K+ at home games there would be certainly alot more noise and support.............instead it is radio on, knitting needles out.........if you want to listen on the radio stay at home and listen to it on the radio, if you need a radio to keep up with whats going on right in front of you, you have a few issues.

Carl Spackler is right and i can't believe people are disagreeing. I guarantee people will be louder and more fired up with a few drinks, you don't have to be paroletic but a couple of brewskies will do the job. A bar is needed badly inside Footy Park, lining up for ages downstairs is pathetic.

If anybody has ever been to the Telstra Dome you will have seen how wonderfully set up that place is. Plenty of bars with standing room near them, you can stand there and watch the footy, have a drink while cheering and then go get a top up.

Shall I start a seperate thread on the poor design of Footy Park or just put that in with the Adelaide Airport/Oneway Freeway thread?????:p

Beer at your seat = much better crowd noise.

You get 10 mates watching the GF around the TV drinking cordial - noisy.

You get 10 mates watching the GF around the TV drinking BEER - ****ing noisy!!

If the crows were in the Grand Final id be noisy whether pissed, sober, half dead, stabbed in the stomach, or in the middle of a 4 day ice binge.

Even 10 pissed mates around Hawthorn V Sydney would be noisy ;)

10 pissed mates watching a game of chess = a **** load of noise

The common denominator is alcohol gives people more confidence to be an arse in public. Not everyone enjoys sitting next to a drunken arse in public.

Spot on and that's why the stadium has been designed in this way. They've managed to keep the loud drunks and the smokers away from the families and oldies who just want to watch the game and listen to 5aa. The pay off is 50,000 members and more on the waiting list. The downside is the sterile, low key atmosphere.

Why the need for a radio at all??? If you dont know what is going on right infront of you, you have a few issues:thumbsd:

Some people want to know which player is in possession of the ball at times and if there is an injury to a player you can find out what the story is and whether or not they will be able to get back into the game.

Its not about not knowing whats going on in front of you. Its a lot of other things.

You have contridicted yourself as those are things that are happening in front of you.
