Possibly. It's still a huge social issue, and the NFL always waits on these types of situations. There are so many legalities behind such a decision that it will no doubt get very messy.

Agree with the sentiment that it will happen eventually, but the players would still be risking legal ramifications until whatever state they are in legalises it

Once it's legalised in all states the NFL plays in.
Teams won't want other teams having an advantage in FA against teams in weed states. Players will sign with a different team if weed was a factor.

There was an interesting article on SI.com about US major sports and the political stance that figures from those sports took around the elections. Argued how the NBA seemed to be more democrat whilst the NFL was more Republican/more conservative but that this was also reflected in other areas as well.
Suppose they mainly compared BB and Brady vs Warriors coach Kerr and a few others and...some other NBA player.

It will stay on the banned substances list until its legalized in all states for recreational use.
But the Next CBA might let players use it for recovery rather then pills like Opioids.

I actually hope they do that. While opioids are great at relieving pain the side effects are quite terrible. Not to mention how easy it is to become addicted, especially with how often NFL players play through injuries.

Thats the reason why some players are not smoking pot, because of how addictive the pills are. and a big reason behind the former Ravens OL player coming out in favor of Pot in the off season.
Common topic on Jaylen & Jacoby, also on His & Hers. Gets raised or discussed several times a week in reference to the hard line the NFL takes compared to the other pro leagues.
