
I mean how the majority of people that get to go (ie everyone except the two competing clubs members) are really only their for the 'occasion' and say only roughly 40% of the crowd have any reall alligance to the teams playing. Will the 'underdog' generate more support than the favourites? Most neutrals in sport (in particular Australians) like to get behind the percived sentimaental favourite. So by that reckoning i wouldnt be at all surprised to see the Dees getting more cheers than the Dons. Even if their fan base is half of what Essendons is, that wont matter if the Dons supporters are not at the game. If it has any bearing on the play, ie helps the Dees to lift, is another question altoghthter.
