The implicit suggestion here is that you do not rate Browns form?
Form is irrespective, I'm just not sure he has enough rebound to function as our third tall, though I could just be severely underrating him. We'll see.
What I think he'll benefit from is a decent run in the side. Then we can see what he's really made of.

Brown when he was younger used to rebound quite well, just doesn't anymore as much.

he's been playing awful this year, so it's hardly surprising.

he probably personifies the team this year vs last year more than anyone else.

last year, he was outstanding for the most part. this year, hopeless

Brown is a crab. Even an out of form Schofield would offer more value.
In saying that I really haven't noticed any particular bad performances from Schoey, maybe I haven't been watching him close enough? Or maybe I'm too distracted by him burning off opponents and taking long run and bounces.

Has been poor.
And his burning of players has lead to htb more often then not.
That being said I didn't wanna see him dropped.

It's been just over a year since his father died. I wonder if that's been having an impact

Interesting observation and there could be something to it.

My partners father suicided (and whilst suicide is different from passing away but the concept of grief still applies) some three and a half years ago and it was not until the 6 to 12 months that the grief outpouring started really affecting her work performance. For the first 12 months she was almost in denial and buried her grief in her work.

Anyhow this may have nothing to do with the price of fish but I find your observation very interesting.

Schofield is an attacking defender primarily in the team to give us run and rebound off half back. We sacrifice a bit of defence having him in the team. This year he has given us zero rebound and his direct opponent has continually hurt us, lose lose. He's been replaced by someone who will just concentrate on defending, a defensive defender. Hopefully Brown can take out Ports third tall and the rebound comes from Waters/Hurn.

Who would you rather lining up on the wing Dalziell or Schofield?

Jokes aside I dont even know if I agree with the Brown selection. But I know why they are doing it. Schofield has been a shadow of him normal self this year. If we had the old Schofield back you would back him on a wing but not now. Give him a couple of weeks in the WAFL to get some confidence back.

He doesn't lack confidence...seems to me that he has too much at times. He's been slow getting rid of the ball trying to beat the opposition and has been pinged a number of times. Added to that was a couple of runs he made into the forward line ignoring good passing options and having long distance shots for little result. I reckon you'd find it harder to fet a kick on Brown that you would on Schofield and if he is not putting the team to advantage it's no wonder Brown gets a gig in front og him. I actually made that comment a few weeks ago

I don't have a major issue with Schofield being dropped.

We have been in terrible form and personally Andrew "Jog beside" Gaff is lucky to have made the chop as well.

We have a number of blokes in terrible form. Last week's loss isn't explained away by injuries - too many of our "best 22" are low on form.

Hurn needs to learn to break free from attention, Selwood should struggle to get back with Jacob showing good toe. Gaff and Shuey have been well below their best and if we are being honest - Dean Cox is well down in form - though his low form is still better than most in the league so he is no danger.

Schoey did start to show a bit last week.He hasnt done many of his trademark runs this year.Westoff would kill him in the air.The one on one marking contests are his weakness. But we have so little pace and so we drop what little backline pace we have.Bring back Smith and persevere with him.

Schofield has been poor this year.
So has Selwood and Hurn and Butler, there run of half back has been non existent
Dropping Schofield should send a message.

Woosha missed a prime opportunity last week with Embley out... Should have kept Brown in the backline and run Schofield on the wing where he space to run and carry. At least he may not have butchered the delivery inside 50 like the rest of them.
And this game has to be the last of the Dalzeil experiment... anything lest than an 9 out of 10 should have them looking at Mark Hutchings before he goes off the boil.

His form has dropped off.

Could be a career defying moment, Hunter was dropped several times in the early part of his career.

Hopefully this is the kick up the ass he needs to improve his game.
