Do they play a VFL side next week?

Where do the losers go to?

I dont think they have any chance to beat an AFL side on current form!!!

Didn't Essendon have Fletcher and Barnes back for this match? That's two very key players coming back that should have lifted them. It just goes to show that Essendon's best 22 are not the top 22 players in the league after all. One or two players can definitely make the difference between a great year and an average year. Maybe people can approach things with a little more humility in future?

I am humbled but I think (and correct me if I am wrong) that 10 players from last years GF team didn,t play. A poor excuse I know but it makes me feel better.

How could they?

But you are right in that the Bombers couldn`t even beat the Pies.

hello are we talking about the same side who one all bar one game last year and was so far ahead of the next side it wasnt funny?i dont think any side has improved its list that much to match the dons again this year maybe close the gap a bit but not enuff to overhaul them.the only chance other sides have is injurys to key essendon players like hird, loyld, fletcher etc.
cheers!

Errrmm....Fletcher and Barnes may have been back....but they were replacing Mercuri, Misiti, Rioli. Mr Navy Blue, you're not doing you research!!

Would you like me to continue? You guys had a full squad ... minus ... Kouta ... and what happened? So look at your own backyard before you get too concerned with our. Opps...i forgot, Carlton supporters are too worried Essendon's plight to actually "worry" about their own. I think you should buy a membership!

I love seeing Carlscum supporters being lulled into a false sense of security

It will be kinda funny when we dominate the home and away season again. It really is amusing how people are coming to these conclusions about us, when the premiership season hasn't begun yet. Oh well. They'll learn the hard way.

That they will Dan. Through it all though...i'll remain humble. Let em have their fun whilst it lasts. I don't believe any other club's list has improved enough to bridge the gap that was so evident last season. They are all living a fantasy at the moment...they'll awaken soon enough!
