Preview Will St Kilda go winless for 21 straight rounds in 2018?

Poor old Saints got their only win Round 1 of this year against Brisbane. Since then theyve had a draw against GWS in round 5 as their only other points. Looking ahead, they have 2 winnable games left for the season.

Round 13 vs Gold Coast at Metricon stadium
Round 17 vs Carlton at Etihad.

The rest of their fixture they will start pretty big underdogs. If they fail to get a win in the above 2 games, they will have gone 21 rounds without a win, which surely must be some sort of record. Cant see their coach lasting out the season.

What are the odds they dont win another game for the rest of the year?

Firstly, they can't go winless for 22 straight rounds, they only play 22 games in a season and have won once already (unless you are choosing to count a bye as a loss).

Regardless of that, I don't see them going winless for the rest of the year. They are bound to win one or two more games and most likely one against a more fancied opponent, it's usually the way.

Well they're currently paying $4.40 to have the least amount of wins for the season (behind Carlton and Brisbane) so if you think it's likely they don't win another game for the season then you have a good opportunity to put your money where your mouth is.

It definitely would not be a record. St Kilda won about 2 games in their first 6-7 seasons, and went winless for the first 3 or 4. I think university had a couple of winless seasons in a row too.

Biggest losing streak would be at least 50-70.

Edit: biggest losing streak is university at 51.

It’s s bit like when everyone thought Essendon wouldn’t win a game in 2016. Then they played Melbourne.

Looking forward to Dees vs Saints round 15

In most of their games, the effort and attitude has been there. It's just the execution has been poor, and some of their forwards couldn't hit a barn door. It's not like they've been completely uncompetitive.

I think the wins will come, they just need to stick at it.

We have a few winnable games coming up - Gold Coast, Carlton, Dogs, Essendon.

After this week we will have played every team in the top 11 expect Port so its not like we have been losing to the bottom sides. And we have been improving every week so the wins will come.
