You cant plateau sh1t! thats just diarrhea when Jack Watts was our hardest at the contest last night you know we are in BIG trouble!

We are more backwards than Jurrahs grasp on the english language...

Wonnamerri looks like he ate Relton Roberts whats the fitness coach doing he cant play in the centre!

I would love to be plateauing at last years level.
What you see is what you get with Wona,
The occasional good quarter or two per game.
Not a 4 quarter player at AFL level IMO

Footy Classified on Monday will be something along the lines of:

Smirking Hutchy: You must be disappointed with the Dees, Gary?
Gary Lyon: <Absolutely shitcanes them, provides some footage to show how hopeless they are>
Caro Wilson: <Makes a bunch of excuses for them, describes them as brave, talks up WC>
Gary Lyon: Don't give me excuses Caro, I don't want to take anything away from West Coast, but Melbourne were piss poor
Smirking Hutchy: Dean Bailey must be under pressure to keep his position. Any change of heart on your own coaching aspirations Gary?
Gary Lyon: <Gives Hutchy earful, and usual don't want to be a coach line>
Grant Thomas: <Grins like an idiot, bunch of cliches including "intestinal fortitude", "off his tucker'>
Caro Wilson: But they're a young side, Grant, they'll learn from this experience blah blah blah

Bickering to the break

saw this.

Bump.

Take a deep breath guys, it's not the end of the world.:)

haha good pick mate, and no it's far from the end of the world and a common trend with football teams

look at freo before their finals appearance last year, essendon and west coast (seemingly) this year

a disappointing year may even be critical to our development

the reason we are plateauing this year is our senior players, frawley (interrupted pre season), davey, green are not delivering... simple as that

that's two of our 'leaders' and one of our best players

sylvia and jamar have been up and down as well

Hahah yea we have had the best start to a season in years but people are crying.
We failed to beat a team we beat by 10 goals last year
We were thrashed by the hawks
It took us all day to beat the Lions who will finish second last.
We only got on top of the Gold coast in the last quarter. Essendon kicked 15 goals to 1 point in the first quarter yesterday. Last year we thrashed the bombers!
Thursday night we were thrashed by last years wodden spooners.
Now if that is good form and results I must have watched rugby.

Re: Will the Dees Plateau next year

It's definitely a concern, we've got to be more consistent winning games rather than getting them in bursts and then going missing for a month.

And no losing to shitful teams like the Eagles at home.

I couldn't agree with myself more

There is one stat that I think says it all about the Dees this year and may explains our demise.
The four top tacklers during 2010 were
Mcdonald - flung in a sloppy fashion no games
Scully - no games this year
Mckenzie - no games this year
Moloney - so far our best player over the five games.

So three of our best tacklers from 2010 have had no contribution.
I have serious doubts that Scully and Mckenzie will play much this year.
Looks bleak to me.

According to stats on footywire we are last in the comp for tackles per game. We are laying 56 tackles per game, 14 per quarter, less than 1 every 2 minutes!!

For a team that doesn't dominate time in possession of the ball that is a terrible tackle rate.

Future Still Positive

IMO

I agree with most things people are saying about Thursday nights game. IT WAS A SHOCKER. However, I do think West Coast have a decent side. Look at their list of onballers, and forwards, especially big bodies.

Look at our future on ballers.

Trengrove, Gysberts, Scully, Makenzie, Blease and the rookies on the list now.

Look at our future forwards.

Jurrah, Watts, Petterd, Cook, Howe, Maric, Mcdonald

Look at our defenders.

Garland, Grimes, Tapscott, Davis, Frawley, Strauss
Look at our Rucks.

Jamar, Spencer, Martin, Fitzpatrick,

Lets remain positive....Only time will tell

Re: Future Still Positive

Those tackle stats go a long way to explaining the story (Garry Lyon showed them on FC and was suitably horrified).

No tackling pressure = no winning of contested ball = no clearance = no forward delivery = bombarded defence. Yep, that looks like Thursday night to me.

What's interesting is that Adelaide are in a similar boat (16th for tackles) so Sunday might prove interesting.
