In the west, the biggest question is : Will the dockers finish on top of the eagles? I wondered what you guys think? You are all footy brains so spill the beans.

By gosh - if the eagles finish below the dockers their supporters will all choke on their chardonnay. Or maybe not - the glasses probably spilled empty after they jumped from the crumbling bandwagon.

The Dockers will finish ahead of the SCUMbags. Even worse is that some of those bandwagon jumpers will try and join our club now that they are going to be losers for the next few years. To all Dockers fans, visit www.kalnet.com.au/~gavnic/index.htm for the lastest Dockers news.
GO THE DOCKERS

i would absolutely LOOOOOOVVVVVVVVEEEEE
freo to finish above the eagles!! going to skool after the thumping of the derbies and every other loss is pretty hard coz everyone knows i am a huge freo fan and the way those eagles supporters treat me is pretty poor!!
all i can say is if it happens, i will stick it up all eagles fans who have done it to me all of this time!

Freo fan,

I know the feeling. That's how I feel when the tigers thump the eagles!! GO TIGERS!!
I get alot of hassle at school if the eagles beat the tigers.

Christo no one jumping ship and if we did it wouldnt be to the Shockers! Everyone who follows football knows the only reason were not in the 8 this year is because of injuries. And as for you Freo supporters, this town is ours and aint no shockers gonna change it, come the end of the year you'll still be looking up to us, as always

jod23,

INJURIES is no excuse for not making the eight. Richmond have had heaps of injuries and have still made the eight. I think you better think of a better excuse. That was way too lame.

Richmond have had injuries for the whole season. But Richmond have only had 4 or 5 injuries at a time.
From Round 11-17, West Coast had as worse injury run as i've ever seen in any sport.
For the game against Brisbane we were missing 11 of our 13 best players; Ben Cousins, David Wirrpunda, Mitchell White, Ashley McIntosh, Michael Braun, Guy McKenna, Michael Gardiner, Fraser Gehrig, Scott Cummings, Phil and Peter Matera.

Injuries are no excuse. All clubs have injuries at sometime. If you can't win because some players are out then that means your club lacks depth.

Adelaide had plenty of injuries last year. We didn't do anything because the other players on the list weren't up to it. It's not an excuse. It's a problem that the club has to rectify.

So just which clubs could lose 10 of their best, and carry on unaffected? Essendon? I don't think so. Injuries are not an excuse for poor form, but they do have an effect. Even if only on team stability. Besides, Judge's pre-season has been a factor in a lot of those injuries.

The Derby should be the 'best' one so far, I can't believe it's not sold out yet. Obviously I'd love us to win (round 6 was GREAT!), and I'm sure the players will remember what happened last year, but another Dockers win (and a finish ahead of us) would be interesting in terms of dynamics over here. There really isn't that much difference in the skill level of the two teams, but they (Dockers) get treated really differently in the media etc. (We promote menswear boutiques while they do natural gas ads) I just wonder if that might start to change.

'Carn the Eagles!

BTW/ Can we drop the whole Chardonnay thing? (See, I can't even spell it) It's getting really boring. Yes the powers-that-be at ny club place too much of an emphasis on their corporate members and sponsors, but why bring that back onto the regular beer drinking, chip eating fans who yell their guts out every week, yet are mostly ignored by the 'club' they adore?

Injuries are not an almost never an excuse. I would think that the Eagles case over those 6 rounds would be an reasonable excuse. No side could compete if they were missing 11 of their best 13 players. Essendon would struggle to win any game if they were missing Hird, Lloyd, Misiti, M Johnson, J Johnson, Carcella, Long, Heffernan, Blumfield, Lucas were all out injured.

Have you ever gone out & played with 10 men or forfetted because you can't get enough fit players?

If your squad isn't good enough to cover injuries then you had better have a hard look at your squad.

Good clubs don't use injuries as an excuse for poor performances.

Just cop it on the chin & do something about it.

No way! Fremantle cant and wont finish ahead of the eagles this year for the fact that:

* The Eagles have all 3 games in Perth, Fremantle only have 1 where half the fans will be Eagles.

* The Eagles are already ahead of Fremantle on the ladder after 19 rounds, which means Fremantle would have to at least win 2 and make sure the eagles lose at least 2.

OK if any AFL club lost ten of there best players to injury they would lose too but im not using it as an excuse just bad luck. The fact is i think the whole league lacks depth.
Not one team has enough depth to lose that many good players and still win. Its just a pity it happened to my team. But we'll be back next year. Oh and on the subject Freo wont be able to finish above us there just not good enough. It will be more interesting next year when we get through all the injuries and the Dockers develop there youngsters more, then it will be a better contest and who knows maybe two WA teams in the Finals.

Being an Eagle's fan I have to sadly say it finally happened. And if the Eagles don't have a good trading season I can see it all happening again with all the veterans declining due to their age and not enough of the youngsters with game experience. Fremantle on the other hand are slowly growing stronger. Sad times are ahead I fear :-(
