Very possible this year that we will lose Rioli & Burgoyne and bring in Sloane & 1 or 2 McGovern's. Much better outcome for us. as much as I would prefer all 4 or 5 of them on the list. We desperately need to rebuild the center spine. Sloan would top the midfield part of that off and one, or both, of the McGoverns would sort out the marking talls we need. Even more important if they do bring in the interchange cap or zone rules.
The zone rules might reduce the importance of the floating defender who picks off marks in the F50... such as a Jake Lever.

You might need better one-on-one defenders, and forwards who can beat their opponents. Hurley would be screwed...haha.

Would love to see how Cyril Rioli would go playing in a more open forward line.

Not sure that anyone here was treating it as gospel. Was a ‘who would you rather’ question posed by Gralin.
I wasn’t aware it had been already spoken about on this thread, I heard it through people who are involved at WAFL level, they believe their has been a falling out, more so from Fremantle’s end and now he’s keen to get back to Hawthorn.
Supposedly, he lied and got cut from the leadership group for doing so.

My understanding is that something is a hypothetical if it doesn't come from an external to bigfooty source.

Given that most journos these days scour big footy for info, doesn't that leave us in the dangerous position of potentially accidentally getting into some kind of circular loop?
Good point Ash

I don't want bloody Murphy or Sloane, only way I'd consider Sloane would be if we are targeting an elite midfielder in the draft that will need 2-3 years to become a top liner.

If we could somehow bring Hilly back and Lynch into the fold that would do me just fine. I said this last year but we should have offered Anthony Miles a contract, the kid is rotting at Richmond and is a 25-30 possession player at the elite level, yes foot skills are questionable but we just need him to win inside and feed the runners.

Great photoshopping, yet I still can't really see Hill in a Hawthorn guernsey.

Would he suit our style of play? Would he understand our culture? Would the other players even want him there? Do I need an emoji for posters to understand I'm taking the mickey? So many unanswered questions, so many reasons why we probably won't get that player.

I’m not getting involved in that discussion in this thread
ABASI will go off his f##king head when he reads that.
He’ll be jumping up & down while Gralin tries to calm him down
Eldorado will be over in the corner rambling on about Monty Python & Cyril’s apartment
All hell is gunna break loose, I give you the tip
Nah I'd egg him on and laugh at the fall out

I’m not having a crack at you here Lethal44, but you don’t need WAFL friends for that info.
It’s been reported in media about him out at a pub in Scarb’s drinking alcohol, asked to move on by cops, gave them a false name & failed to tell the club immediately.
When he did tell the club, he didn’t give full story.
I didn’t want him coming back to Perth for 2 reasons.
1) didn’t want him to leave Hawks
2) knew there was a massive chance he’d go back to his old ‘mates’. Some of which really are not good people

So, no to Lynch, hopefully no to Marc Murphy and I don’t think Jeremy Gov asking price is worth it, not for Hawthorn anyway ( he won’t leave WCE for less than 1 mill ) .

That leaves :
Sloane
McGovern Mitch
Gaff

Wouldn’t mind us concentrating on luring either one of Shiel or Cogs over this off season with first round pick and maybe not worrying about the above three.
