Sicily stays in the backline for mine. He's just too good in that role. Would much prefer that Gunston get moved back into the forward line.
Yep - his creativity and ability to kick through zones etc is a god send for our backline. And he is such a champ he can still kick three from this position anyway

Hopefully we’ll give Lynch a good demo of repeat inside 50s to advantage. Rough, with his landscape gardening expertise, can talk him through the finer details of the best playing surface in the league.
I can’t think of another club that has less attractive game plan for a key forward than ours....

Would we have the same plan if we had a Key Forward?
To be honest, probably. In a way, it sucks for a key forward, but it is proven to create more opportunities in general. Its playing percentages. If the key forward is a good contested mark, he'll get a lot of look ins. If the key forward is a lead up player or works by finding space, he's not going to get very far. Think 2013 here (or 2008 GF seeing as the thread is going around at the moment), we stopped using Buddy as 'the main avenue', and I think it was a big part of what made the difference.

Clarko was asked today whether O'Meara will be in Lynch's ear trying to get him to play for Hawthorn...

AC: That will all work itself out in due course....

Is that some indication of confidence in landing Lynch or just avoiding the question?
Avoiding the question, standard clarko he won't give away any more than he has to.

I picked that up also.

There is no doubt that Lynch is being fiercely pursued by our club.

We should land him.

So would it be fair to say that there have been media links to the Hawks with

Sloane
Murphy
Gov x 2 &
Lynch

All that is well & good but there must be something out there to suggest that we have another Jarman Impey type player targeted who we have been admiring from a distance or does that come next season?

The news guy of SEN breakfast said on Friday morning that Lynch didn't want to go to the Hawks. He didn't really elaborate, except he said it looks like the Pies.

I agree the choice of comment from Clarko was interesting...

It’s almost changing daily , one day he is off to the Pies , then Tigs , then us .
Going to happen the rest of the season.

He’s from the HUN. On MMM earlier in the week another HUN “reporter” said that the pies couldn’t fit him in unless they lost De Goey.

Yeah... agree. last week i heard it was us.... but it was interesting that the reporter went as far as to say that Lynch was not interested in Hawthorn. They normally just say x or y is in the box seat.

Does anyone watch our games?

Roughead coming to the end of his AFL career very quickly. Maybe 1 more year.

Pittonet doesnt jump.

Unless we have Lynch or 2xMcgoverns lined up we will not be moving on either Ceglar or McEvoy who can actually take a mark inside 50.

O’Brien and Schoenmakers have been on our list forever and still can’t get a regular game.

We will not be trading Ceglar for a second round pick.
My view too !

Don't think i have actually heard us linked to J Gov at all, just wishful thinking due to the Mitch rumors.

Maybe I was just seduced by the idea of having someone in our forward line who can actually take a contested/pack mark :drunk:

Sic wouldn't be nearly as effective as a pack marking target as he is an intercept-marking & rebounding defender

Besides, if he clunked a few then he'd find himself on the outer, just like ol' Cegsy
