This for another thread but why does a club get compensation for a player leaving when he is not contracted.

It’s like the AFL has this sill rule in place just for homesickness but seriously kids playing juniors and entering the draft should be willing and able to go anywhere when you consider the money they get paid and the chance they have to set themselves up.

Absolute nonsense.
Player A wants to leave his club yet the rules in place are set up to almost prevent clubs from trying to get them over.

Imagine if this was in place in the real world when you tried to leave an organisation? Absolute bollocks.

Yes but the draft wouldn’t work in the real world either - so it’s pointless to compare the two.

Also massive player movement happens every year - so the system isn’t that prohibitive.

Nice selection bias.

Mitch is also younger, has played less games and wasn’t a second round pick. Not sure how you think TOB is ahead here. MM has more upside.
Wrong tree sorry Ned.

Just showing that a preferred target can have bad days.
I don’t give two hoots about TOB anymore or want to show he’s better at all.
I don’t want another TOB “potential” with bigger upside.
I would if we get Big Mac though

Mitch McGovern is clearly superior but he isn't worth our 1st Round pick + 700k in salary like a few are suggesting on this board, do that and it will be an absolute travesty.

MItch has just come back from a long term injury , he also took 5 five marks in the second half , on a quiet night .
