Or both the western Australian clubs could of got Tim Kelly in the 2015 or 2016 drafts.
The point was how come Tim Kelly was taken in the 2017 draft? In the 2017 WAFL season, He was averaging 28 disposals a game in the WAFL and kicked 20-25 goals that season.
In the 2016 WAFL season, he was only averaging 20 disposals. So he didn't stand out.
In the 2015 WAFL season, he again was averaging 20 disposals a game. Again, he didn't stand out.
Because West Coast are last which begs the question how will they get back to playing finals. Why so much focus on this trade??
Got Willi Rioli with pick 52 in 2016.If Rioli never existed it might have been Kelly. The Eagles were thinking about it and offering advise back then.Stuff like if you want to be an AFL footballer you have to do x ,x,x and x and improve on your defensive side and pressure acts and a few other parts of your game that dont come naturally .He would have got drafted by the Eagles if Geelong did not get in first in 2017 but Liam Ryan,Oscar Allen and Tim Kelly with picks from 20+ was always unlikely.Or both the western Australian clubs could of got Tim Kelly in the 2015 or 2016 drafts.

The eagles got a flag out of it.The Judd trade wasn’t a failure it just didn’t achieve anything in particular
That doesn’t make it a bad trade it’s just a trade
The eagles got a flag out of it.
Carlton didnt trade for judd, the eagles traded for kennedy.
Side note: I'd also like to nominate the Judd trade as one of the worst ever. Crazy right. Judd played 145 games for Carlton but compared to what West Coast got it ain't even close.

Judd did change our culture and won a brownlow and a couple of memorable finals with us.
Also Dennis Armstrong who was the sweetener draft pick in the trade, forged a better and more respectable career than Chris Masten who was a bust.
Eagles won the trade, but absolutely have no regrets over it.
Yep, Armfield played over 150 games. Unsexy but a really good pickAlso Dennis Armstrong who was the sweetener draft pick in the trade, forged a better and more respectable career than Chris Masten who was a bust.
Maybe he didn't live up to the pick 3 hype but 12 seasons, 215 games and a premiership is hardly a bust. Not sure who Dennis Armstrong is but you're welcome to make your case.Judd did change our culture and won a brownlow and a couple of memorable finals with us.

well 2 it was Judd and pick 46 (Dennis Armfield) for Kennedy, Pick 3 (Chris Masten) and Pick 20 (tony Notte)Judd did change our culture and won a brownlow and a couple of memorable finals with us.

Mini Kennedy?
Remember last year when news broke that Lachie Neale would like to explore moving back to Freo? Both Fremantle supporters and Brisbane supporters were relieved when nothing came of it.but when a player who just came off such a good season nominates you, you make it happen. .
Odd take. The trade netted us 2-time Coleman winner Josh Kennedy, who we built a premiership-winning forwardline around.
Shocking pick. Cale Morton and Jarrad Grant were right there for the taking.
When I think of players who have horribly under-rated careers I think of Chris Masten (215 games) and Troy Cook (198 games).Judd did change our culture and won a brownlow and a couple of memorable finals with us.

Your reply gives the impression I wrote that Neale nominated Freo. Help me out here?Neale didn't nominate Freo.
