Will the young kid play against Collingwood at the Telstra Dome?
Has been in great form in the NAB cup, and has showed coach and supporters he has the goods.
If Ricciuto, Welsh or Torney play in round 1 then Vince will not play, but if none of the 3 get up, then Vince will be in the starting line up.
Has shown he has great hands, and has a great footy brain, defiently is a player that will have a big future, but has he shown enough to start the year off playing a senior game?

I would love to see young bernie play round 1, he deserves it. However, even if Welsh, Thorney and Roo don't play I can't find a spot for him. My bench is Clarke, Doughty, Knights and VB. I would love to slot him in ahead of Doughty but then that would mean not enough experience on the bench.

I think he will get the nod - Vince was preferred to Doughty for last nights game indicating Doughty's not match fit yet.

Samrt footballer this kid!

Yeah, seems like a good pick up. And from what I've been hearing, very popular with the female fans.

Be amazed if Welsh made round 1 .....hence the opportunity presented and wasted by Jericho.

Still think the Crows will go with him.

I remember seeing Goodwins early games and thinking how sure his hands were ....Well Vince is better.

If the Crows played Johncock from the bench thru his first season I'll suggest Vince will be given extensive experience as well.

I would not be suprised if he gets a gig come round one.

Welsh has got to be suspect, Jericho, after his last efforts has got to be in doubt.

Doughty, seeing he didnt play yesterday has got to be in doubt, so I think Knights and VB will definately play.

So in cosclusion...Yes Bernie for R1.

Can't disagree with that logic.....But I think the reality apart from others not being available is the fact that he's really earned a round 1 spot IMO

Bernie Vince will be a cult figure for the Adelaide Crows for a long time. Unfortunate for him and fortunate*:thumbsu: for the club Vince, Ivan Maric, Nathan Van Berlo will only make the round 1 side if a few players don’t come up from an injury.

* Referring to depth in the playing squad not an insult to the players. :thumbsu:

At very worst he will be an emergency for the round 1 class with Collingwood; if Scott Welsh doesn’t come up he will play

I think the rows will take one foirst year player in with them round 1

Probably Knights and VB but there's a 70/30 chance Vince will get a gig.....It is only Collingwood after all ;)

I never thought he would come close to selection at the start of preseason for round 1. But this kid has the goods.

How good was that mark late in the 1st quarter?
Stinging pass, under pressure, and took it as clean as a whistle in the hands, and then as cool as you like, slots the goal.

Reminds me of Welsh, very similar players.

Depends who's fit. Assuming VB & Knights are now part of the "best" 22 then Vince is next cab off the rank.

I wonder how Craigy sees the order of the young guys. I think it would be something like VB, Knights, Vince etc etc. It wouldn't surprise if Porp figured realtively highly as well.

Yeh. Pity Porp did his quad when he did. I thought he showed a bit in close. Could have used that on sat night.

He also reminds me of welsh, smallish forward who can take a grab on a good lead. I'm a big fan of Vince and would love to see him play round 1 as I'm going over for the game. If Welsh isn't playing then he'd have a good chance of getting a spot.

I would play Vince if Welsh doesnt come up.

Assuming Bock is back them KMac goes back into the rotating 3 tall forward , leaving a small leading/crumbing forward open(with 2 going back)

Vince and Skipworth rotating off the bench and middle up forward.

Skippy is doubtful for R1...I think he rolled an ankle or something playing a trial for the Budgies

Just been announced that Welshy has been given the ok to play for Westies next week. Have to see how he pulls up.

But as I said in another post, I wouldnt have Skippy and Bodey in the same side. Bode has come on more and more, just his kicking that requires more work.

He may or not play Round One - but it is immaterial. The kid can play and he has the ability to do things Burton, Bode, Skipworth, Biglands and Perrie cannot do on a regualr basis when under pressure - kick goals and hit targets.

Until we as a team can do this better we will continue to screw ourselves, particularly in close contests.
