The club should ask either Armstrong or Gibcus to go on long term injury list. That way we can pick up Raso or whoever. We're gonna have a pick between 1 -3 we'd be foolish not to manipulate it to end up with another free hit. By the time either Gibcus or Armstrong is ready to come back statistically speaking someone else will have picked up a long term season ending injury. Just swap their names around and voila

Will Gibcus even play this year? Doesn't have a timeframe for when he's expected to return. Feel like there's more benefit wrapping him in cotton wool and using a MSD pick on Raso than there is trying to get one or two games into him at the tail end of the season.

That's a shocking take. Tell a bloke that's been injured for 2 years straight that he can't play a hand full of games at the end of the year because we want to make room for a speculative rookie pick? The club would love Josh to get a few games under his belt to gain some momentum and confidence going into 2026.

Would be just as bad telling a 1st year kid he can't play even though he's fully fit.

He is a category B rookie, MSD is category A rookies.

MSD is Wednesday May 28. Still wouldn't be surprised if Prestia does pull the pin, even though he seems to be on the mend. That's exactly what Caddy did for the club.
I am confident that Prestia will prioritise the club and retire. He would know his body isn’t up to professional football anymore, so I would be shocked if it didn’t play out that way.

Yeah but then it's a bit odd we've put a timeframe on his return, isn't it? If he was thinking of retiring, wouldn't we have just left him as TBA?

Learn to read. I said swap their names with whoever, inevitably picks up a season ending injury before their 10 ish week injuries are better. Can't you fathom that by round 18/19/20? that there will be someone ELSE with a 4-6+ week injury (thus ruled out for remainder of the season themselves).... you simply swap their names. Also I wrote ASK not TELL..... you must struggle following simple instructions I'm betting.

WTF are you on about? Swap their names around? You'd have to put them on the inactive list in the next week and a half, which rules them out for the rest of the year, fit or not.

"The club should ask either Armstrong or Gibcus to go on long term injury list.".......Nah, that's a shit idea.

Late addition, did ok through the middle.

Did an Achilles in this match. Would go straight on to the long term injury list.

Poor bastard was only meant to play a half, sing at halftime and then take off to a mates 40th and he decided to play the second half and spent the night in a hospital bed.

You can't just swap names around like you're managing a primary school team that no one gives two shits about. The AFL practitioner has to be satisfied that they are eligible to be placed on the inactive list (so, actually injured) and vice versa when applying to come off the list. You can't just get Gibcus to fake a limp for 12 weeks and then get some poor campaigner to put on a sling and say hey doc I broke my arm while Gibcus magically gets selected a week later.

Highly unlikely we will IMO, unless Prestia does pull the pin.

Club just recruited a heap of kids in the draft and getting a mature player in would be low on our priorities from a list management point of view.
