Will Williams ever stop whinging?

A good friend of mine use to play in the SANFL for North Adelaide at the same time as Williams was playing for West Adelaide.

He reckons that Williams was the biggest whinging, cry-baby he had EVER encounted on a football field. Apparently he would never shut up!

Not much has changed, eh? :D

Who's whinging????

All Mark Williams said was that they would have preferred to play the game earlier in the season, which is what they requested.

If you can't let a bloke make a comment like that then it's YOU that is the whinger.

chooco had plenty of time to move it, not that he could or have any right to

quote one is your reason why its scheduled their, as i don't believe the dogs have played up their yet for premiership points yet

You post a link to a press release from the AFL dated 6 October 2003 saying the 2004 draw has been FINALISED and you somehow infer from this that the PAFC had plenty of time to change the draw if they didn't like it.

Port told the AFL when making submissions of preferences for the 2004 draw that they were happy to play a game in Darwin provided it was scheduled for the week before the mid-season break. The poor timing of this game is compunded by the fact that the AFL have also scheduled Port to play Collingwood in Melbourne the following Friday night. This is what Williams is complaining about.

I don't see what the big deal is. The plane trip is no longer than (for example) Melbourne to Perth and the weather is no different to playing Brisbane in the heat.

If it was my team that had to play up there I wouldn't care and if my coach was whining i'd reckon he's a soft ********.

Dan

Actually it's about 10 degrees hotter in Darwin this time of year but lets not allow facts to stand in the way of a good Port bashing.

i choose the wrong word, port have no right to change it, its the dogs home game, they probably already had their disagreements (trying to be nice here) in oct. over it, no need to re-bring it up again, its not going to move the game

the game is also played at night, wouldn't that make it cooloer? both teams have to put up with the heat.

Nowhere does Williams say that playing in Darwin gives the Bulldogs any advantage. In fact if you had read the article in full you would have read this quote;

"When we get there it's going to be really hot so we have to make sure our players keep out of the heat, but so do the Western Bulldogs."

It is the timing of the game that Williams is not happy with.

The Bulldogs next game is a home game the following Saturday night indoors at Telstra Dome, as was their previous game.

Well i'll stand corrected. If anything I am surprised how cool Brisbane is in August. I wasn't Port bashing because it's Port, if Danny Frawley had said the same thing i'd think he was soft too.

Besides, the game *is* being played at night, and Darwin is marvellous at night this time of the year.

i think i have made my feelings very clear about the draw, its there, the afl deciedes with clubs expressing an opinion but have no final say, you play them, you don't like it, get out of the afl.

Yes, but the teams they play the following week will NOT have played in those conditions, you goose.

Are you being this obtuse intentionally?
it was ONLY A QUESTION, if i wanted to have a go about that i would have. Get over the draw, just play it.

Yes, it bloody is. It is the entire ********ing issue.

The AFL to use common sense and schedule such a game earlier, which would be to the detriment of no other side.

Wrong.

This thread is quite amazing. I've never before had to lower my opinion of someone's intelligence so many times in such a short time.

I've never seen a 'moderator' behave in such an immature manner, throwing insults, name-calling and abusing other posters over a simple discussion before. As the moderator of the Port board, can we assume that you represent all Port supporters which means all Port supporters are precious losers who throw tantrums everytime anybody disagrees with them? I bet you were searching for the delete post button and then just remembered it wasn't the Port board.

Boo bloody hoo.

Get over it.

Dont like it? Go back to the SANFL. Everyone carries on about a national competition - well here we are, taking the game to a territory starved of AFL.

Im sure the players are professional enough to play in conditions like this. Use your interchange bench as much as you want.

Who really cares?

i have on another board, and he/she got banned for a while, can't be bothered telling him off cos i doubt they will do anything, i was going to stoop to his level but thought, not worth it.

The heat and humidity in Darwin during this game will be very intense. And the boys arent just going for a quick morning stroll. It's 2 hours of running. Can't be good for the condition 3 weeks out from the finals.

I dont see what the problem is. Its not like Port show up to play in September anyway so why would they be worrying about their conditioning.

Perhaps its a good thing. It can be an excuse when you exit in straight sets again this year.
