30 minutes into 4th quarter, Adelaide up by 20 now.

i don't know how a side can lose so many games from such winnable positioins.

Damien Drum must be tearing his hair out.

We don't get a lot of footy info here in Brisbane about the Eagles or the Dockers, so the opinion I'm about to give is on info that I read in big footy. I listened to some of the game on the radio last night & even though I picked Adelaide to win (purely on home ground advantage & last weeks performance against the Hawks) I was really hoping Freo could knock them over, more for the sake of the supporters, who must be getting really teed off with the club from the point that it can play reasonably good footy for 3 quarters & just lay down in the home straight. Sure, Adeaide kicked poorly, but they didn't lay down & die. I read on anther post on the Freo Board that The injury To Robran & the point that should have been a goal by Fletcher because it spun the wrong way & was touched by a defender as the turning point that basically stopped your momentum & is the reason you lost the game. Please, give me a break. If that's all it takes to stop you winning a very winnable game then I can guarantee you will lose a lot more games. As I'm a long time Bears/Lions supporter, I remember the bad old days of us getting a kicking week in, week out, in any quarter, & that was frustrating enough, let alone to be leading on more than a couple of occassions. Your players apparently said in the media this week that they support Damien Drum, that should have been enough to motivate them to win, particularly in that last quarter. I voted on the main footy board that Damien Drum should stay to the end of the season & not be sacked for stability reasons. I still maintain that view, but the question is, does Damien want to stay until the end of the season. I happen to think he is a reasonable coach, but maybe not for the Dockers, I've previously stated that I think you need someone in the John Kennedy Snr. mould. You do have talented players in the club of all ages & ability. However,I'm afraid that unless some heart & desire can be instilled into the club & soon then Freo could well languish on the lower end of the ladder for a very long time.

No thats exactly the point
The Bounce of a ball can be the difference between a side winning and a side loosing.
At the beggining of the season freo were in the position to beat Hawthorne, but couldnt bury them.
The difference between top and bottom can very much be little things like that.
The are completely out of the control of players.
They say the game is about inches, and there dead right.

Whilst I agree that the bounce of the ball can sometimes turn a game, Freo has had the wood on the opposition in the last 3 games up until the last quarter & (I hate to say it ,but will anyway) choked. Not because of bad bounces or balls that did a backflip & not go through the goals. All teams experience bad bounces on occassions, but to be quite frank very few of them blame the loss of a game on the bounce of the ball. Can you tell me why the Dockers have lost by such margins after leading for most of game? 13 goals to the Lions in about 15 mins of the last quarter. 9 goals to the Demons in the last quarter. Adelaide by about 20 points in the dying minutes of the game. Can you respond to the other queries & statements I've made, particularly in regard to Damien Drum. Looking forward to your reply. This is not a gee up, I'd like to know how the Freo supporters feel, & what can be done to arrest the situation. These results obviously must have an effect on player confidence & attitude.
