just got back from watching willi play at cranbourne.the result was another draw 2 weeks in a row after leading by 41 pts at the last change.i noticed pendles toovs illes reid and dawes standing together which i reckon means illes and reidy will be playing anzac day.i thought cook played pretty well and stanley did ok aswell.egan was hopeless doesnt even make a contest and i have a feeling the coaches are starting to run out of patience with him.goldsack also did well
 
how the hell did they lose the 41 point lead? anyways hopefully reid gets a game
 
Im tippin Casey had the wind in the last quarter... Massive breeze down at Casey Fields and thats just on a stock standard day. Geez i'd love to see Reid play Anzac Day.
 
Went to 3/4 time because that's all I could stay for, mate needed to work at 5, but yeah, made the long trip down from Berwick :p and was a good start. Amazed with the final result...a draw.

With the Scorpians going to the scoring end late with that breeze, it was expected to close.

From what I saw, Goldsack was brilliant in defence, once again, showing he will be a good depth player this year as a backmen, and should one day put the Pies guernsey on. Wellingham had limited time on the field but whenever on found it, looks like a future player too...good pick-up. Stanley got better as the game grew, so how'd he go in the final term? Cook just doesn't cut it, and Egan was as casual as always. Clarke was okay.

Reid, Brown, Bryan and Iles all didn't play, so will all be in the 25 for Wednesday. Iles may come in for Lica and Shaw (Heath) gets to play on the ball maybe.

had a strong breeze in the last quarter but still should have held on martin clarke did a couple of nice things
 
According to the VFL website, Wellingham was best for Willi so must have had some game time.

Chris Egan was on and off the ground for most of the day, with the massure/trainer. He would have fresh legs.

Sharrod Wellingham did some very good things and Goldsack looked calm, cool and collected across the half-back line.

Casey were always a chance with the strong wind. Brad Gotch would be disappointed, but 2 points is better than none.

Did Bryan not play...? He needs to replace the weak-bodied Richards

Brown didn't play last week, I would imagine he is injured, because he wouldn't be selected for an AFL game after missing two VFL games in a row.
 
Wellingham and goldsack will be good players for us next year, hopefully we pick up meyer as well, reckon he deserves a chance at the afl.

Med - he is a fantastic player - but cant play with a body like that. He needs to hit the weights or get some stuff. With 5 kgs - he could be a versatile swingman

What grates me is that you don't understand what I meant.

I meant they are the players in line for selection. I didn't mean they would all play.

:thumbsu: Get him in. Although asking him to play Sunday and then Wednesday is asking for a Heath Shaw-like effort. I'd rather see him put in for round 6.

Very promising to hear that Goldsack was again good after his solid performance against Port Melb.
 
There is no doubt that we will soon see Wellingham elevated

Should have picked him up this year, at least on the rookie list. He'll probably go to another club next season and as usual we'll be without a ruckman.

Nicholls was elevated into Ruslings spot I believe.

Forgot about JA, thanks. With Dawes due back in a couple of months its cutting it fine whether we can promote a rookie for him.

I dont know much about meyer but if was any good he would already be at a club. Most vfl players are vfl players for a reason. They lack something. There is a big gap between AFL and VFL football. Whats the point of replacing a b grade ruckman with another. We need a ruckman of quality not a back up. We already have that in Bryan.

Anything's better than nothing. We need quality AND quantity. At least if nothing else, Meyer would be quantity. At the moment Shane Wakelin's our fourth ruck option. Surely Meyer's a better backup than Wakelin or Cloke, and a better backup than Hall and Walker were last year.
