Port Melbourne were looking like winners for 3-and-a-half quarters, until Williamstown took a few chances and all of a sudden were back in the contest. Dean Limbach found his hands on the footy and converted well booting 6 goals for the match. Scott Meyer has a big future as he won first use for his midfielders, and battled rigidly in the last term taking two important marks. Brett Johnson was very good in the midfield.

Chris Egan: Kept in the back-line for too long. Brad Gotch rolled the dice and moved him where he can have an impact across the half-forward line. His pressure was pretty good, should have done more though.

Tyson Goldsack: I liked his game in the back-line - he took it up to Dukes and Pitt and spoiled well. Good contribution across centre-half back.

Daniel Nicholls: Workmanlike effort and used it well.

Sharrod Wellingham: Got plenty of the footy early and stayed in touch with the leading stat getters throughout the game. I was very impressed with his pressure and one percenters.

Martin Clarke: The Irish lad is not there yet, but I liked his run and aggression towards the footy. Looked confused at times.

Ben Reid: I was disappointed to the say the least as he could have used it as an opportunity to put his name forward, but he is a kid. Will be up and down as he hasn't settled to Williamstown's gameplan.

Danny Stanley: Very quiet.

Brent Mcaffer: Started forward, then pushed back late in the game. Quietish.

Ben Davies: Tried hard, as usual, and used it fairly well. What is his role in the Collingwood side?

Final scores:
Williamstown - 13.15.93
Port Melbourne - 13.15.93

I thought Reid showed a fair bit & has plenty of improvement left in him!

What happened to Nathan Brown, why didnt he play?

I thought Wellingham and Reid were the best Collingwood players. Reid was excellent in the first half. Wellingham was great, loved his effort at the ball. Goldsack showed a bit as a tall defender. Nicholls was good, Davies had his usal VFL game, Stanley was very quiet, Macaffer was quiet, Egan was ok despite Molloys constant harrassing of him for lack of intensity. Also Clarke needs time, still was solid overall. Cook was hard to guage on TV.

Reid showed plenty of talent. Probably wasn't huge possession wise, but you can just tell he can play. He is only 18.

Wellingham was a gun. He will be promoted. Will debut this season at 1 stage you'd think. Big call?

Marty Clarke looks polished I reckon. His awerness let him down once or twice.

Danny Stanley wasn't seen.

I though Cookie worked hard.

Where was Nathan Brown?

Tyson Goldsack looked alright also I thought.

Martin Clarke still has little things to learn - When he takes a mark, he doesn't take the obligatory few steps backwards before trying to kick the ball.

He'll figure things like that out though.

And I'll be watching Limbach closely for the rest of the year though - Could we worth a look as a rookie prospect. Richmond might have delisted him too early.

I thought reid was fantastic in the first quarter and really displayed the talent for us to want to take him at 8.

Goldsack is another who will be a good player for us next year.

Wellingham was very good but he looks a bit small.

I liked the look of clarke, give him the year at willy and hell be in the pies line up round one next year.

The rest were crap.

Did you watch the game coin_Toss? Sometimes i wonder:rolleyes:

Was Reid good or bad?

just a question :p

Also, quite strange.

Willy Reserves draw last week
Willy Seniors draw this week
Collingwood draw next week??? :p

Reid was good, couldn't kick straight though.

Watching Meyer however, he is a ruck with a presence, can mark very strongly and ruck's well in a Clarke Keating mould (slender build though).

I'd seriously say he is a better player than Guy Richards and by a fair way too.

Hopefully he got the wake up call he needed. He was told he would be rookied by Richmond if he kept training and stopped going out to all hours of the night. Unfortunatly he continued to go out and didnt do what was required to make it on the rookie list. He looks like he has added a bit of muscle this year and he should go well.

It's hard to guage. He does look to have fire in his belly, and looks like he loves being out there, but he also has got on the end of a few easy goals. Still he is a strong mark and is a good kick for goal. ABC actually gave his oponent Livingston the best on ground (along with Brett Johnson) despite him kicking 6 which was stupid.
