No it isnt. If ASADA are demanding a manditory maximum and the AFL are pushing for a lessor penalty taking time is quite justifiable.

We just dont know what is going on.
I said the mental stress Willie is being put through is unacceptable.
IF the scenario you suggest is relevant, Willie & his manager should be inside the discussion, not locked out.

How do you know they aren't inside the discussion?

It's not like Willie or his manager or the AFL will come out and publically state "Hey everyone, sorry for the delay but ASADA are being pr!cks and are demanding the mandatory 4 years but we are working on getting this reduced. It's a tough situation but we are trying to get the best result we can."

Why would the AFL do that? That would inflame the situation and piss off ASADA and WADA.

It is easy to take a shot at the AFL for taking so long. If you just want a quick result then fine, 4 years bye bye career. Very easy for the AFL to just do that. Sure they will cop a bit of flak but they will just shift the blame onto Willie and ASADA.

The longer it takes IMO that means not 4 years.

He should have thought about that when he reached for the sports drink. It is up in lights as a standard 4 year suspension - advised to all top level or professional sportspeople.
Anything less than 4 is a win.

Everyone is not responsible for the delays.

Its Willies murmurings that suggest he is unaware of any discussions.

The actual penalty plays no part in my comments or thinking, its a different issue.

The actual penalty plays no part in Willie's mental health?

I would suggest taking the time to get a reduced sentence to save Willie's career in the long term will be more beneficial to his mental health than just going the quick route and copping 4 years.

And as I pointed out, 'murmurings' and going public about knowing what is going on is not a smart move by anyone.

We just need to suck it up and wait.

Now if the AFL come out and he gets 4 years, well THEN we can have a crack at the AFL.

Your guessing the same as everyone else is, you have no idea what will simply or not come into the tribunals reckoning.
Not so much a guess as it is a conclusion based on precedent. Show me a single previous instance where a Court/Tribunal/Commissions/whatever has given an offender a reduced sentence because they took a while to hand down a decision.

You want highlight vids to make you sad?

Here.

26 touches, 1 goal, 3 marks, 10 tackles and 3 brownlow votes.

The weeks leading up to that game he had

21D, 8M, 1G, 6T <---- 9th AFL game
21D, 6M, 6T <----8th AFL game
22D, 3M, 3T <----- 7th AFL game
23D, 5M, 2G, 2T <----- 6th AFL game.

Swift was a very creative/dynamic player. None of our mids have come close to producing these overall numbers in their first season, let alone first 10 games.

Gaff was an absolute ball magnet once Woosha stopped playing him as the sub, he'd tick the box, but never put up more than 3 tackles in a game.

Took Sheed until his his 2nd season, 12th game to crack 20 touches.

Brayden's career disposal high is 15 touches, and that was back in 2018 in his first game.
O'Neils is 16 touches, he did that in his 2nd game.
Just what exactly went wrong with Swift is one of my ongoing football obsessions.

Take at look at this for instance, also in his first season. Admittedly yes, it's only WAFL, but his whole athletic profile and game style is completely different from what we saw in subsequent seasons.

Did his knees start giving him trouble? I seem to recall him missing a chunk with illness of some sort? Maybe glandular fever?

BOND 007 you might be the only one with a hope of giving me an answer...

Where ya off to? I just got back from Sandy Cape up north. South is so much better
Down to Hopetoun. Gonna do the trip I was trying to do last year when covid struck and I got stuck in Wave Rock for 5 days... there's only so many times you can look at that rock.
Have been meaning to do sandy cape for a while but I never seem to get there, no good?

I feel he was a player with shocking disposal and the years that followed 2009 a style of game required to be cleaner with the ball.

Those highlights are not that flattering but i guess at the time a first year player being able to accumulate the ball was exciting stuff.

The actual campground is a bit of a hole imo but if you have a 4wd and go a bit further north off road you can find some pretty nice spots on the beach.

I went a couple of years ago and we managed to get our own private beach for the few days that we were there.

I remember someone on here saying that the club tried to remodel his kicking action post 09 and ended up completely ruining it.

Dickheads in the crowd turned him into a meme, Woosha played him as the sub too often and didn't give him a huge amount of game time, then would routinely drop him/Stevens after one quarter of a game, and then finally as he was forced to play in the WAFL the crowd would jeer him further, straight into early retirement.

Outrageous behavior. Still pisses me off.

All these highlights show him getting a lot of the ball but he is very quick to dispose if it, often resulting in a turnover. That's fine for a first year player but maybe he didn't get better.

He also walked away to pursue another career so maybe his heart wasn't in it. I recall his family didn't want him just being a footballer. Combine that with a wooden spoon year in 2010 and him becoming the whipping boy (the groans at subi would have been like a dagger in the heart), I can see why he dropped away.

But the way you and many others on here jeer Ainsworth and turn him into a meme is completely appropriate? Spare me.

Turns out swift got a general exhibition in his TER/ATAR and finished top 40 in the state. Is now an investment banker. Probably makes the same as footy without all the crash and bash.

When he first went back to study it was to be a doctor, guess the more he saw it and how long it takes to become a specialist the more his mind turned to the dollar signs of investment banking.
