More details have been leaked and reported in the Hun - Willie was caught red-handed trying to pour Gatorade into the specimen jar by both ASADA officials present.
If this is true then I don’t know what to say *face-palm*. I guess there is a reason he is Willy Rioli, AFL player at the West Coast eagles and not a Dr Willy Rioli esteemed professor at Harvard University, albeit probably higher paid.

Young man, maybe his first random test, probably just a case of sheer panic and a really dumb reaction to a really uncomfortable situation.

You'd have to think he must have had some sort of substance in his body in the period prior to the test (probably illicit as he's not exactly the finest specimen physically) to have him react in the way he has been reported to have.

He was then forced to give an actual sample and the results for that are pending.

It doesn't matter what the result of the test is though - Willie is likely done and dusted for at least a couple of years (if not the full four years) as attempting to tamper with or substitute a sample is viewed as dimly as proving a positive sample (even if it was an inept Benny Hill-style attempt to provide a false sample after training).
What flavour Gatorade would you use that looked like urine?

If this is true (as per Herald Sun) nobody at WCE HQ is shocked about this at all. WCE have known about it for weeks and were hoping they might get him through finals without it blowing up.

Next question is how the hell he was able to play against Essendon.

Jesus, not the sharpest tool in the shed huh? Even if the officials somehow didn’t notice him pouring Gatorade in to the jar, he would have been done for tampering once they worked out it wasn’t urine. See you in 4 years Willie.

It's always embarrassing getting caught red handed with your Willie.

Lemon-lime?

If the reports are true then he clearly wasn't aware that the testers also examine the sample for temperature and colour nowadays before bundling it up to ensure its a valid sample they have collected.

So he tried to pour in an energy drink at some point during the testing. According to John Ralph.

Silly. Silly, boy.

If it was out of competition, he would have been fine right?

Yep and paid the price. Don’t think he’s the type of player to be taking PED but you never know. Let’s hope the young man gets the support he needs because life away from AFL for 4 years is career over and a massive salary sacrifice. You’d never recover from that.
