No I didn't miss that at all, what's your point. Does that quarter mean he will automatically stand up every quarter in finals? Because that is what he is required to do. Every quarter, every game in finals.
Think we just need to keep going with what’s working and not fall into the trap of squeezing players in just because they have more experience or games under their belt. Remember this year was supposed to be a transition year but we’ve done better than we thought. Don’t think we should change up the process that got us here in the first place. I was pretty happy making finals at the start of the season so anything from now is a bonus.

Stuart Dew probably shouldn't of played the 2008 grand final then by that logic, only stood up for ten minutes.

Same goes to every player in the side, many of whom have proven they can’t stand up in every quarter of every game. Doesn’t stop us getting excited about finals

He doesn’t have the tank yet and I am sure he and the club will be working on this. Anywhere in the midfield you have to work deep in Defense as well as forward. He is not there yet.

I think you will find when used on the ball his tank is more than fine. Been top 5 in many games this year.

Was watching this and Liam Ryan's 20 goals for the year video.

Rioli seems to be your player who cashes in on the carnage, front and centre of packs, creating play on the f50 arcs which sometimes he reaps the benefits of by breaking lines and kicking goals, or getting on the end of his previous good work 3 disposals later. He's fearless in the air but it's not a major attribute, he keeps his feet, is dual sided (with snaps anyway), does his best work in traffic.

Ryan is more the type of player you isolate one out in the f50 with a slingshot play or to utilise his marking. He plays deep and you'd be hard pressed to defend him very well given how nimble he is with that amazing leap. Has a great turn of speed which makes him super dangerous going back into open space. Not to say their skills don't overlap at all but each has different strengths. Ryan very much a repeat sprint player like Cripps but faster, not as strong though.

I also hope Lecras plays on, as stated in the end of season article on 'The Roar':
"Last year, LeCras looked finished. He looked slow and either disinterested in applying pressure or unable to. He was the least physical player in the league.

This year, he played with burst again, and a degree of force. Last year he waited, this year he hunted. He still kicked his goals – that perfect set-shot routine, the same narrow run-up and simple motion every time, as the right leg skies up and to the left as the ball goes invariably straight – but he added pressure back into his game. In both 2017 and 2018, LeCras kicked 32.21 – the difference, and it made all the difference, was that he went from 45 tackles to 70, from nine free kicks won to 22"

If he continues that sort of selfless game style and pops up for 30 odd goals then we're the winners overall. Expect Rioli and Ryan to push past 30 goals next year if they get full seasons.

I haven't seen it mentioned anywhere, but not long after the siren went in the GF, he went up to a Collingwood player lying on the ground, shook his hand and patted him on the chest. All class, our Willie.

Yes, I saw that and wondered who the player was. His opponent maybe - I'm still no wiser.
There seems to be a healthy respect between the players and clubs

I’m pretty sure it was Jeremy Howe

Ok, thanks for that.
I just watched the highlights video - boy what a pick up sweet willie was! What a player - brilliant.
Should be even better next year ... I hope he keeps his weight down and under control. The sky is the limit for him

Probably fitting as he ****ed up Howe with that last minute tackle in the goal square

I know it outrages Hawthorn fans to make any comparison........so....

Cyril, first year, GF 10 disposals, 2 goals, 3 tackles

Willie, first year GF 12 disosals, 1 goal 1 behind, 7 tackles

doing alright, our Willie

Was the catalyst in the first with a bit of magic.
