Very disapointed Lleyton's out. To push the 4th seed as far as he did was a top effort, and he never gave in.

On a side note, I've never seen anyone carry on like Djockovic did during the match. He made far more noise and was more obscene than Lleyton.

Next time Lleyton :thumbsu:

Hewitt out, brilliant :thumbsu:
How much did he choke when the match was there to be won. Got in front and started playing like a pussy, not going for his shots.

That 4th set tie breaker was disgraceful. Waited to be 5-1 down before playing some shots, but by then it was too late.

Hewitt plays more close, long matches than most.

But why am I bothering? I'm up after midnight discussing tennis with a blatant idiot on a footy forum. I'm out.

Not so much a blatant idiot as someone who can't understand why people gets their knickers in a twist over people who don't like Hewitt. Why so defensive?

The word choking is used far to often now a days, very few players are always able to win the big points. Just becuase you lose a few and play a bad shot doesn't mean you choked it's part of the game in my opinion. A choker is someone who consistently falls apart when the game is to be won, Hewitt doesn't do that and not even the biggest of Hewitt haters can say that he does. After all he has won many big games, not all of them but his fair share. His serve does let him down at times but he can break service as well as anyone going around. Agaiin that is just part of his game.

All in all a fair effort by Hewitt to reach the fourth round and no shame in losing to the fourth seed. I think anyone wishing to have a go at him about that really is clutching at straws and knows very little about tennis.

Play starts at 8pm AEST again tonight, with all men's QFs and women's SFs scheduled to be played. Might spend a few hours watching tonight. :thumbsu:

Federer vs Ferrero (resumes at 5-5)
Ivanovic vs V.Williams

Court 1:

Roddick vs Gasquet
Henin vs Bartoli

Venus has been pretty impressive in the last couple of matches, and I hope that ends tonight. I'm hoping Ivanovic wins tonight and then avenges her French Open Final defeat by Henin Saturday night.
