Congrats serena :) :thumbsu:

Was actually a decent final for all those saying womens tennis is a joke. Radwanska is a good nifty player Serena too much champion quality in her to lose that though.

Planning to make a night of it tonight with a few friends. It's a little difficult given that it's on a Sunday night, but we're all Federer supporters, so it should be good.

I take it none of you guys watched the men's doubles final?

Absoutely brilliant. Wildcards Jonathon Marray and Frederik Nielson, after knocking out top seeds the Bryan Brothers in the semis the previous day, defeated the fifth seeds Lindstedt and Tecau to win the championship. It was an epic match. Nielson injured his wrist, but they fought on to an amazing five set victory: 4-6, 6-4, 7-6 (7-5), 6-7 (5-7), 6-3. Atmosphere was absolutely electric. The match had everything.

Marray, a 31-year old journeyman, was the first Englishman to make the final since 1960 and the first to win the title since 1936. Nielson is a 28 year old from Denmark, previously best known for being the grandson of Kurt Nielson (the only Dane ever to make a grand slam final). The £260,000 winner's cheque they shared was greater than either of them had individually won in their careers thus far.

Honestly can say I have not enjoyed a match of doubles that much in at least 10 years, probably longer.

Looks like one of GB's sporting droughts is going to end come sunday, maybe I'm a saddist, but does anyone else want it to continue? Will be barracking for Fed. Murray is definitely gonna win a slam though, even if its not this year's Wimby. He is just too good not to.

Haha mate it's surreal we've got a bloke in the Wimbledon final and another one wearing the yellow jersey and favourite for the Tour.....unbelievable really.....and number 1 ranked cricket nation.....you'd have had long odds on any one of these 10 years ago let alone all three at once.

I watched it until rain stopped play at 2 sets to 1. Despite the story of the wildcard winners, I was hoping Lindstedt and Tecau got up. Losing 3 Wimbledon finals in a row is pretty tough. Great sportsmanship shown by Marray in that second set TB almost made me change my mind though.

Tecau has a GS title already (won the Mixed at the AO in January) and both of them are pretty successful doubles players, have won lots of titles. The other guys had never won anything on the main tour.

One of those matches where you don't want to see a loser, but I felt like Marray and Nielson had earned it after beating the Bryans and a couple of other seeded teams.

Respect to Radwanska for that effort last night. She easily just could've let herself get completely oblitterated, but she dug deep (albeit with a fair amount of help from Serena). If the cards fall for her, she'll definitely win a slam. She seems like a likeable character too.

Anyway I've slept about 5 hours across two nights, I'm gonna do everything to force myself to stay up to watch this thing. The atmosphere is gonna be unreal.

Its an experience to go to centre court in Wimbledon

I saw a mixed doubles final after the Federer / Nadal match of 2007 five setter.
One gets to go to centre court at Wimbledon by obtaining a RESALE ticket, and through luck, one can obtain a ticket for practically nothing, the match had Stosur playing alongside Jonas Bjorkman against Jamie Murray and Jankovic, Jankovic and Murray took out the match in virtual darkness, and the temperature from that afternoon was gone :( . Wimbledon was effected by bad weather for the majority of that tournament, yet they finished everything on time :)

I give Murray a chance.

His best opportunity for a slam was always going to be when one of the big 3 got knocked out early and he didn't have to beat 2 of Fed/Djoker/Nadal to win. Against one he can win on the day.

Hopefully Fed keeps the mockers on. If he brings the form from the semi against Djoker hard to see him losing but you just don't know with him these days.

In all seriousness, when Federer settles into this match he's going to destroy Murray in BH-to-BH crosscourt rallies. Murray is going to need to really work that forehand aggressively and get Federer moving to win.
