Fed, Nadal, Fed. Nothing ever changes. Never in doubt this one, much like the French.

Would be good if the next gen could actually turn up one day. As great as it is seeing and watching masters at work, it would be even greater if they were tested.

The thing is they ARE tested. They just pass the tests.

The trio of Fed Rafa and Novak have been simply incredible. They are tested.....they are just that good.

Why are you not surprised. Cilic comes across as nice guy and I'm sure he didn't do intentionally. I would think it is very hard to say all the things you want or need to say in the space of a couple of minutes.

I am also wondering what Garbine coach Sam is thinking now that Conchinta has taken Garbine to a Wimbledon win with a difficult style of play and mindset.

He didn't get one iota of respect or congratulatory comment from Cilic (but then I am not surprised)

Pretty sure when they were standing together afterwards, I saw Cilic mouth an apology for something. I would assume thats why he apologised, and with usual Roger class, he patted him on the back and told him not to worry about it.

Wow what an awful tweet. Tennis is a tough individual sport plus most players have emotionally struggled on court. Eg hingis had a meltdown at the French Open finals.

Agree. Firstly, no one knew exactly what was going on at the time so why anyone would tweet something nasty at that point is beyond me. Secondly, people react to stress differently. Quite frankly I would rather see sobbing than anger resulting in racquet smashing and abuse of umpires etc. These days people are much more likely to show their emotions than in times past so really not that surprising to see something like this. In any case he wouldn't have been crying because he was losing as such but more that he was not able to give a good account of himself on the biggest tennis stage of all. At least it shows he has some ticker and doesn't just throw in the towel when the going gets tough unlike some. I actually have more respect for him now (and I'm not a big fan of blubbering :D ).

Hilarious to see Piers Morgan copping it from other athletes and tennis players for his tweets regarding cilic. What tosser

Morgan was absolutely right. The crying was unmanly and embarrassing. Of course in our day and age I'll be told that such public exhibition of mawkish self pitying is to be welcomed but what the hell I'll say it.............the man was acting the wuss.

Unmanly? So guys aren't allowed to show any emotions.

Its probably an age thing Jack. I'm old enough to value emotional continence and the effort not to parade one's insecurities.....in other words being a man and getting on with it without looking for pity or sympathy.

I realise the culture is changing and exhibitionist parade of emotion is now the thing but its not my thing. Fed crying with self pity when Nadal beat him was the low point in his career. Cilic embarrassed himself yesterday.........that's how many older blokes such as myself and Piers obviously.see it. We'll be gone soon enough and men can cry their eyes out as they please

Its all really rather boring, unlike the media i actually dont enjoy seeing the above trio winning everything year after year. Especially when 1 is at an age were he should be slowing down. Its a shame that there isnt enough good talent around playing consistently well to make mens tennis interesting. Theres nothing interesting about federer breaking more records imo but maybe thats just me. I compare it to seeing chris froome winning again most likely at the tour de france. Ho hum.

Agreed, i feel the same, afterawhile I find it boring seeing the same three players winning GS. Even during the Sampras and Agassi era we had different players winning majors.
I always expected the likes of Tsonga and Dimitrov to at least win one or two Grand Slams. It's a shame Del Porto has struggled with injuries over the years.

I'm interested to see how the next generation players develop over the years.

Lets hope the US Open is a bit more interesting on the mens side, was very predictable, especially with the contenders playing injured or horribly out of form. The mens side probably needs a surprise winner at the US Open.

Really enjoyed the womens side in this grand slam, wasn't obvious who would win until the final. Only really caught up watching the final last night (Swans game was on). Muguruza played amazing tennis in that final, glad Venus copped a bagel.
