Could Kerber be Serena's biggest GS rival since Henin?

Would be nice if she didn't just get broken

Which says it all really

Not sure of exact figures but I know they’ve had a hell of a lot of close matches, including their two great US Open finals and that Wimbledon match from 2015

To be fair I do count Vika as a rival but not GS one since she never beat her. But man makes you miss Vika.

Henin beat her in 4 out of 7 GS matches which is bloody remarkable.

So both in 2007. I recall that year Henin absolutely dominated the field and Serena wasn’t in the best shape and in her comeback. Not sure it’s the best comparison.

Azarenka and Serena’s best matches were when both were at their absolute peak.

Serena has so many peaks, I've lost count. She's just that good.

Man, we need Vika back but hey at least Serena has Kerber and Muguruza to play great matches against her.

2012 and 2013 was her best ever IMO. It was like the 02-03 version but more clutch and less temperamental. Amazing to think what she would have done if that major year out between 2010 and 2011 didn’t stop her in action.

I agree. Serena’s best is the best but her form’s been flattered this tournament. I think she’s going to have a cracking 2019
