Not even sure it was nerves really-just played the match points he had poorly. Impatient maybe. Should have nailed them. Halep would have.
Champions take their chances. Fed didn’t.
The implication fed isn't a champion is a strange one.

What an incredible final that was.

Of course he is a complete champion and he was probably the slightly better player on the night. I should have said to take the championship, and so to become the champion on that day, you have to take your chances. Fed had it there on his own racquet and blew it. So he’s not the champ today.
A really good final.

He played them poorly because he was too scared to just go for a winner. Should've just tried to serve four first serves in a row. It would have only taken one big serve to win. In the heat of the moment he was simply too nervous to execute.

He is gonna go down as the GOAT when it’s all said and done, he’s a freak.
You think he's going to be moving like that in his mid 30s? There'll be a natural decline in his ability to play so defensively all the time. It's happened to Federer, it's already happened to Nadal... he's no exception.

How Great is Djokovic.

On his way to the most championships. What a superstar. The greatest.
He got lucky today. Federer, an almost 38 year old, had him on toast. There's no guarantee he'll win the USO or AO. Eventually father time will curb his defensive wall. He'll probably fall just short. Upsets also happen etc.

Yep and surely at some point, the younger gen of players will finally make some headway into the old guard.

Yep Fed had enough chances. Can’t close it at 40-15 what can you say. Credit to Novak, his defence is ridiculous.
Also thought Fed attacked on Novak’s backhand too much. It’s his better shot.

Woke in the middle of the night and thought I'd check the cricket score and see if the tennis was still going... o_O

Very exciting finishes to both. Disappointed Fed lost but well done to Novak. (Still hate seeing an epic match like that decided with a TB though).

Crazy effort for a 38 year old, Novak is a god.

Imagine Tennis without Novak, Fed and Rafa, They really should cancel the sport for a decade to mourn.

Meh, looking forward to some different winners tbh...
