Well that was a train wreck.
Yeah unfortunately it looked like the occasion got to her and she didn't play close to her best

Give it to me straight: is there any hope for Tomljanovic?

No way I'm betting on Barty at $1.17, or even 2-0 at $1.59.
Not the way barty was hitting them in her last game
So at lads you can still back medvedev to be eliminated in the 4th @ 8.50- his match was stopped due to rain with him 2-1 up and on serve in the 4th.
That is better odds than the 6.50 on offer via live betting for him to lose, plus you can use the lads wimbledon multi promo with the 8.50 bet as a leg too. (I checked w chat- futures legs are ok)
Using the promo (assuming the other 3 legs get up) this is something resembling a free swing at a decent payout if medvedev happens to lose:

Good bet! Just need the doubles now to get up yeah?
Yep have no idea about doubles, just chose the shortest odds I could find over the 1.10 minimum to qualify for the bonus bet promo.
My only regret is not slamming it harder, but I did get that one on and one other group of bets which included this leg which pays out at at ~30/1 if the AFL grand final is any possible combination of dogs, cats, dees, lions.
We are punters, we've never put enough on when it's looking like a winner! Good luck with the womens doubles, although nothing worse than sweating on a $1.10 pop when you've already got the hard yards done on a multi. Especially when it's womens tennis, and even more especially womens doubles!

Golden opportunity lost there.
The women's title is wide open- some very juicy odds for name the finalist.... the favourite combo starts at $30+!
I've backed barty vs everyone quoted as a leg in small stake multis that pay out large.
If ash makes the final and novak wins the mens I'm expecting to be in line for a ~$3k-10k win off a total $80 outlay. (Payout would depend on who ash plays in the final)
(Other multi legs are things like one of cats/dees/lions/dogs to win the flag, dan andrews and scomo to win their elections, usa men and women to win olympic gold basketball)
Long story shot- womens title is an absolute guessing game (reflected by the odds on offer)... may as well pick barty's name out of the hat and cheer her on.
So it's d-day for my barty bets.
As I said pre round 1, I backed a barty v everyone quoted (on tab and lads) final to occur... which is good and bad at this point.
Because unfortunately no-one quoted a pliskova v barty final.... so I need 2 results to go my way and have a sabelenka v barty final on saturday.
Ive got my fingers and toes crossed that they get up, however I am also a chicken and bought myself some insurance by hedging the 3 other possible final combinations (lowering my potential win payout by ~3%.)
So I'll get my outlay back if barty or sabelenka lose tonight as a consolation prize.
(Noting of course I still need my other multi legs such as elections, novak win mens etc to get up etc to collect if barty and sab win tonight)
Anywhoo, I'm happy with how it has gone playing the field on this one.
I hope the US open has such wide open name the finalist markets too!
The only bets i really love (if money from footy comes through) areIf you had to have a bet, then at the prices you'd be on Pliskova. I don't think there should be that big of a gap between them. I would think Pliskova should be $2.50 odd. Models very rarely wrong at this point of a tournament though they've got 6 games of data in the conditions to base their prices off.
