Last time I saw an Aussie male in a final I was 16 and getting ready for Year 12. (2005 AO in which Leyton lost).

Would Leyton's wins for Wimbledon and US Open have even been on FTA? I imagine it was all Fox Sports back then.

Same for Pat Rafter's US Open wins I imagine.

I think if you looked at wheelchair players you’d find a few… they often play a format without semi finals (e.g. a round robin with a final)

Wimbledon has always been on FTA as long as I can remember, I remember watching Pat Cash win the Wimbledon final back in 1987.

There was a patch when 9 didn't care and coverage was a bit spotty. This was way before Ch 7 took over a couple of years ago. Of course 9 got the rights back in recent years.

I liked the classic theme ch 9 had fo the Wimbledon intro, they jazzed it up in the early 2000s and tried to give it the doof doof dance music feel lol.
