Everything fell right for that tournament, she was playing very well (her change of direction was impressive) but her draw wasn't amazingly tough and just rode the momentum through the 2 weeks.

Those 2 weeks on the women's side will stick out for a long time.

Emma has had injury issues since too. It is a classic case of too much success too soon but it's kind of a problem you want to have.

Yeah for memory she didn't play a player in the top 10 in that run, she was extremely fortunate with the draw.

there is a certain player who would make life very interesting. Hasn't lost in 36 games and counting now.

Would have been quite a rivalry.

I'm not convinced by Swiatek, she got blown off the court by Collins earlier this year in the semi final and Barty then dispatched Collins in the final.

Swiatek is the best of whats left after Barty retired, grass is her worst surface but theres so many mentally weak in the womens draw shes probably still the most likely to win the tournament

How kontaveit ever got to number 2 in the world shows a complete ineptitude of the rest of the womens draw, she is probably about top 30 at best but got extremely lucky with some results

Her form last year was exceptional won the year end tournament smacking everyone. She’s just in poor form happens. Had COVID before the French so maybe that can explain this a bit

It explains everything. She mentioned it in her press conference about her recovery from that and how she was not right at Rome or Roland Garros and had to take an extended break after that slam just to get her body right.

Yep just looks flat and that can happen. Barely been able to train either. Actually surprised she won round1, but last night there was nothing. No emotion, nothing. Wasn’t like I was watching Konteveit and she’s still probably unwell

Radacanu has had lots of injuries since the us open. She’s 19, plenty of time to get herself right. Very promising player.

I keep forgetting she's no2 in the world lol

The stupidity of the no points at wimbledon really hurts those lower ranked players. Tomljanovic will drop from 44 to 71 after wimbledon because of this, its really unfair. They should have given players there points from last year at the bare minimum

Yeah, Wimbledon really ****ed it up by going back on their no discrimination rule.

Are you allowed to compete at Wimbledon if you aren't posh?

For 50 weeks of the year, the ATP compete in tournaments for the men's singles. For the other two weeks at Wimbledon, they compete for the gentlemen's singles.

It's a shame, Barty lost interest and passion in tennis

And she plays her first international golfing contest in the US this very weekend sobs

Why no points?

Because Wimbledon banned Russian & Ukrainians from playing. ATP said this was not fair and so would not allow points. WTA followed suit.

Read up the history on Wimbledon it would be an essay but basically in the older days it used to be called gentleman and Wimbledon being all about history won’t change things like that. Dress codes are another one
