Read up the history on Wimbledon it would be an essay but basically in the older days it used to be called gentleman and Wimbledon being all about history won’t change things like that. Dress codes are another one
Yep, no other tournament around the world has more tradition than Wimbledon. They won't change anything.

They'd just rather see it rain and rain and do nothing about it.

Wimbledon is high up on my bucket list and I just know when I finally attend, it will inevitably rain and I'll see barely any action. I wish they'd stop being so stubborn and take a bulldozer to the joint and refurbish it with a few retractable roofs for the major stadiums like the French did with their tournament a few years ago.

Kyrgios looks as professional as he ever has in this match. Good to see him concentrating for once - especially as he has a potential five sets of doubles to play later on with Kokkinakis.
I'm calling it now.

He's going to make his first Grand Slam SF. He looks primed and the draw is kind to him. His toughest opponent before the SF is third round against Tsitsipas, a player he beat two weeks ago on grass, and a player he has a 3-0 record against in outdoors matches.

He always looks likes this when he's a) winning and b) his opponent doesn't offer any resistance. I mean, sure it's great and all but enjoy it while it lasts.

And as a Nick hater, full credit to him for not dropping the second set after the missed tweener.

Dont forget he was really good last year also ubtil he got injured.
Continuing his great form from then

He wasnt gonna drop it for one missed tweener but a waste of a break opportunity. True

The one tradition Wimbledon should change is the starting time on the main two (roofed) courts. They don't start play until 1.30 & 1.00pm whereas the outside courts commence at 11am.

This leads to a situation like on opening day this year when rain stopped play on all courts early and the main two courts were doing nothin and no matches at all could be televised.

They should start them all at 11am and this would allow another 'ladies' match to be added to Centre Court (the women have often complained they are at a disadvantage getting scheduled on Centre Court) and Court One. 2 mens/2 womens each day - equality box ticked.

There will be 3 roofed stadiums once all the renovations have been completed.

Problem is there is a cap on how many matches can be on Centre- it’s to preserve the grass, unless this has been changed which I doubt. Every year this comes up they like to have a few slots in spare just in case for later in the week. Agree on Court 1&2 though

Lol what. There's 2 roofs in play at this very moment

I don't think Kyrgios will ever get a better chance to go deep in a grand slam than he does this year. The draw is weak (apart from the obvious Nadal and Djokovic). Berrettini was the next best on grass and he got covid.

He is the favourite to reach the semis in his quarter I think.

He played one of the best grand slam matches I have seen him play tonight.

So he's losing easily against Tsitipas....
