I'm not sure anyone in their right mind would have seriously thought Federer would win 20+ Grand Slams and spend several years as the world's greatest player. Greatness is a very strong word and if anyone honestly thought he'd go on to eclipse Piston Pete (14 Grand Slams seemed like a huge mountain to reach at the time), then kudos to them.
