That was a disgrace. It goes to show what a circus tennis is when Kyrgios is involved and what jMurdoch journalists will do to get a story.
Yep - also what I'd like to see, but for various reasons rarely happens, is some name and shame action.
If Alja/or anyone feels disappointed/angry enough to post about this on social media after, then name and the shame the journo..!

I fondly recall Andre Agassi's famous outing of a journo many years ago when he was asked about his recent split with Steffi Graf. Agassi simply asked the journo to identify himself and his employer. The journo refused, so Agassi then asked him to leave the room or he would - the journo walked out..!

Needs to attack the backhand of Nadal flat. Fritz had this really brainless idea of attacking Nadal's FH which never works
Didn’t understand that. The opponents thinking smashing the ball back to Rafa slows him down. Fritz had no variation or change of pace in rallies. Huge opportunity lost
Fed and Rafa will always be unparalleled champs of this sport.
Defined an age we were privileged to witness.
Don't sully that by talking of he who shall not ne named.
Immediately you have no respect nor unbiased view. Novak is 100% up there with Rafa and Federer. Winning 20 grand slams during an era of Federer, Nadal and Murray at times is incredible. Any other era, he would have won 30 by now. Have respect, regardless of whether you like him or not.
One of only two players to have defeated Nadal at French open in the last 15 years. He has done it twice separate time. Federer ? Has never ever beaten Nadal In French.

Novak is there with them, regardless if you like him or not.
I have said it here before.
Depends how you define champion.
He doesn't fit my definition due to many factors. He avoids paying tax that would help his country by living in a tax free haven. He is a selfish prick who tried to cheat to play in our country. Never will call him a champion. He has good stamina and can hit the ball really hard. Will give him that.
It's like music.
You can say the person who sells a ton of records can be an all time great, but is it true in all cases?
Ditto Nick. He wouldn't be a champion to me unless he grows the heck up, pays taxes to the country who raised him and stops being an egomaniac. I continue to hope he matures. Just mho.

Yeah. I get that.
Not for me though.
He will always sit underneath them.
Not everything is about stats.

Fritz played a brain dead game. The game against Nick won't be anything like that.

If Kyrgios keeps babbling to himself in between Nadal's first and second serves, Nadal should go to the umpire.
He was doing against Garin in the second game-bad sportsmanship.
He's babbling to himself because he is under pressure and wants to get into a fight with someone to charge himself up. Warne and Border used to do the same thing on the cricket field. Going to the umpire would play right into his hands and it won't make him play any worse, only better. You call it bad sportsmanship, no worse than Nadal taking forever to get ready to receive serve.

If the crowd are banned from doing it why is not Kyrgios?
Titsipas was correct on this one.
I would deliberately say 'blah, blah, mumble , mumble ' inbetween his serves.

Every player has their quirks. Nadal and Novak take an hour to serve the ball

I have heard the crowd make noise in between first and second serves. Once the player gets into their service motion, they stop. And that's what Krygios does, he mumbles something then stops when the other player is ready to serve.

No other player has ever done it in the history of the game because it's wrong.

Pat Cash 1986. Tells the crowd to shut up between the first and second serve. But yer, no other player has ever mumbled anything between the first and second serves in the history of the game. Cool story bro, keep the narrative going.

I've said it many times before and I'll say it again, an injured Nadal is better than any other injured player. He is just incredible when he isn't 100%. The mental strength he must have to fight through an injury is unrivalled.

One of the most memorable moments is when he took a set off Wawrinka in the 2014 Aus Open final. Most players wouldn't have been able to continue let alone take a set off Stan.

But last night's effort probably eclipses that one. Two sets down, injured, comes back to win despite still having his serve broken numerous times. What a warrior.

Before this tournament I had Novak as the GOAT, but last night's effort has tipped the scales slightly in Rafa's favour. I understand not everyone would take performances under duress or injury into account, but that's why everyone has an opinion and an arseh*le. These GOAT arguments aren't based on scientific evidence. They are based on perception.

I don't take issue with anyone claiming any three of Rafa, Novak and Roger are the GOAT. Obviously you can mount a solid case for all three based on how you perceive it. Some people take factors into account that I don't (I.e. Novak being selfish off the court). That's fine. I take only on court performance into my criteria.

?? Someone from the crowd 30 years ago and one time?
I'm talking about an opposition player doing every point, every point.
Your post is a load of crap.

So your response to the greatest on court crime ever committed by a player would be to commit the same crime?

Sound about as mature as Nick.

If the umps don't do anything you have to even it up yourself.
That's why Titsipas was trying to smash a ball into Kyrgios.
