Puzzled as to why it is Carlton supporters who have the problem with Lleyton in this thread.

I'll be cheering for the Aussie as I always do ..... unless it is Anthony Mundine but that's another issue entirely.

What a childish response.

The fact is good player or not, Hewitt, like Shane Warne, comes across as a complete and utter tosser and has no likeable qualities to him as a bloke whatsoever. In fact I remember a poll being down at the Aussie Open (Do you want Lleyton to lose) and more people voted for yes than no.
So I am not in the minority here.
Lleyton is a loser.

They are champions on the field but off the field they are totally different.

2. You on the other hand haven't. At different times you've stated that Warne and Ablett are not worthy of champion status because of their off field indiscretions. Or do you deny that?

ps I'm surprised you haven't been calling for Shane Warne's axing from the Australian team on moral grounds.

Maybe I got you mixed up with someone else but I'm still not convinced you're not the person I've had arguments over Warne and Ablett with in the past.
 
Geez, how Aussie biased is are these tv commentators. Not everyone wants Lleyton to win. And there are actually two players on the court.

Federer 7-5 6-2 7-6 (7-2) Gonzalez
Hewitt 7-5 6-4 7-6 (7-2) Lopez

Lleyton now just one (very difficult) win away from his third slam final in the last 12 months. :)

it really is a disgrace that Hewitt has to face Federer in a semi. ok, fair enough he wasn't 2nd seed. but to be demoted to 3rd seed then have to face the #1 seed is ridiculous. that means the 4th seed gets an easier match than the 3rd seed.

definitely should be 1v4, 2v3.
 
Federer seemed to give his opponent a few more chances than usual today, some hope for Lleyton on Friday night

Grosjean took the first set against Roddick, Johansson has had 9 break points to 2 but they've both converted one and it's 5-5 in the first. Both second serve percentages are in the 30s, Nalbandian has served 58 times to Johansson's 34
 
(1) Federer v (3) Hewitt
(2) Roddick v (12) Johansson

Again I say it's ridiculous that Hewitt has to play Federer in the semis.

Federer has to lose some time I guess. You would rather be facing him when he is on a streak like this IMO. Hewitt has nothing to lose. Win and he has knocked off one of the hottest players ever.
