Wimmera FL discussion 2025

While umpire abuse is unacceptable in all grades of the game , from the various games I’ve witnessed this year it does appear the whistle blowers are very keen to get noticed.
Overruling goal umpires from 50m away, pulling out free kicks frequently for both sides that even leave the recipient confused are a regular occurrence.
The best umpires do so with no emotion unfortunately a lot of these tirades directed to the men in green could and would be silenced by a more common sense/consistent approach.
who are the better umpires then .

Always a fun weekend in the Wimmera League these days isn’t it!

Every game was a ladder position upset.

SMT- coming good at the right time of the year as they normally do! Look to have had to much talent for the Nhill tigers on the weekend. Is Delahunty off at years end?

Nhill- sliding as the year goes on. Got over the line to warrack who sit second bottom and beat a very undermanned dimboola in a last quarter, lost to stawell ( in the wet though! Anything could happen that day) and got flogged by SMT now. Could very well miss the top 3 if they lose to burras this weekend!

Stawell- up and down really. A convincing loss to dimboola shows maybe where they truly are at. A lot of star power went out of that side from last year and the midfield battles keep hurting them against good mids like SMT, Dimboola & Ararat. Serious fire power up forward though!

Dimboola- you never know what side ya gonna see on the park with the roos. Weekends list looked to be their best side and when they have that list they’ve won all games except the burras in round 1. Keep that side through finals they could be in a granny lossing to Ararat by 10 goals.

Saints- throwing a spanner in the works for the leauge rolling the Burras! Their best is pretty good but it doesn’t get displayed each week. Lacking like stawell a decent midfield. Key forwards would really have pushed them over the line in some games.

Warrack- still a great improvement from last few years, can see how competitive they’ve been all year and getting ever so close but the results they keep getting shows out of the 10 new recruits from Adelaide 3 of them are good and the rest seem to be average.

Demons- so close in so many games this season! Cant have any other expectations with the side being 18 years old and injuries to key guys has had them wobbly. They won’t be winning much in next few years
But 5-10 years they’ll go strong.

Ararat- 15-20 goals Better than every side.

Burras obviously didn’t deserve their own paragraph after last weeks game?

Bumped into Delahunty Saturday night & he is full of praise for SMT. Will be staying put next year.

Do us all a favour champion and never open this website again!

Not entirely sure who Kade Petering is, is that even a real player?

Interesting way to look at it with the Prem data AVG & relevant to positional stats:
All stats Avg's relevant to positions not jus the top 21 ranked. top stat avg's in their Lines in the comp.
the bench was also just added in top ranked 3 that missed out relevant to their Line/position.

RP: Ranking points, D: Disposal,IP: Intercept Possessions, R50: Rebound 50's, S:Spoils,CP:Contested Possession
T: Tackles: Clearance's: Goals, I: Score involvements, CM: Contested Mark, #: Ranked number in Prem data ( Only top 10)

Tells a tale abit only big surprise was not as many SMT players in the side as their highest ranked player is Billy Lloyd on RP- 106.6 at 13 games and that doesn't go in front of any of the other midfielders
