I would like to add props to Morabito for his behaviour at the game today. I was outside at half time and he walked out the gate to go somewhere else and he was accosted every metre by someone wanting a selfie or an autograph. He was unfailingly courteous and polite to everyone and particularly one little boy whose dad asked him to sign a footy, got down on his knees talking to the kid and spent a minute or so with him. Must be hard sometimes doing all the public stuff when you aren't getting to strut it onfield but he was great.

!!
It's precisely what I meant and it did happen. Lachie didn't handle the tag last week but he took his game to another level today when he broke one.
Lachie yanked the tag around the ground is what I'm sayingl.Sacrificed his own influence in order to take 'mad snake aggro dick' out of the equation.

Good game, but the truly exciting thing is that there is so much more improvement left

Fair praise where it's due. Nic Suban. A dilligent, disciplined, and handy performance on Hamish Hartlett for a fair whack of the game.

Suban 10k 10h 4m

Hartlett 7k 5h 6m

Our mids had the better of them all over the park.
I thought Suban had a good game too.

And can you believe it...I don't think he had a HTB call against him either!!!!

Yeah I think it helped that he was more outside than inside but his decision making was generally excellent with the pill. Did a lot of screening work and a number of times he stopped Port counters off the HBF that they usually link well from. Wasn't flashy but he did a really important job and when he had the ball in hand he used it well. More of that please.

He hasn't reached the heights I thought he would after seeing his first few seasons but at the moment he's definitely best 22.

Especially liked his decisions to mark then play on, think that's something Ross has encouraged a fair bit the last few weeks. The skills have been much improved and flows so well when it does.
Seeing other players in similar scenarios too. Crozier has been great in breaking the lines and take that risk.

Two bizarre decisions on the day. The free against Mundy for throwing the boot away from the stoppage. He couldn't just leave it where it was.

And the clear touched ball by Dawson on the Impey snap. Even Brad Johnson thought it was touched. Should never happen when you have a review system.

Impey himself thought it was touched.

Great effort today.

Collins is a seasoned veteran with only a handful of games. Set and forget.

Clarke played his best game for 2 years. Took a few important grabs when it was required.

Subes locked down Hartless well while out playing him.

Barlow tagging whilst notching up 43. He even got tagged in the 4th. Its not the tagging role, he's a tough inside mid who out muscles opponents.

Neale, the ever reliable engine room.

Fremantle Selectors. Made the right call on Hannath IMO. Speed wise i think it could've been a liability.

Great result!

Pinching myself this morning did this happen

Yes it bloody did and im bloody happy with how barlow neale pav went about it, perfect foil to take attention away from the kids. The kids got more development under there belt it was awesome to watch

What a great game by Barlow :)
I liked our commitment to the game plan...When the free flowing run on game works, we look very very good.
I thought Suban and Dan P both gave good efforts. Subes is an interesting one...He seems to play better when we have a more attacking style. Maybe his form over the last year or so suffered by having to play defensively.
Neale is a machine :)...I am off to the TAB to put a twenty on him for the Brownlow. Figure he will poll 2's with a few more 3's coming up ;)!
Pav brought back memories. The goal from 55 had me out of the chair :)
Collins is a long term defender. Will be a step in replacement for Dawson when he calls it quits.
Crozier just keeps getting better.
All in All that was a good win. Shame about Tanner...Hopefully it is just a small strain.
Looking forward to Friday night.

wtf Cassisi? Most pathetic excuse ever. They have a total of 6 on their injury list and didn't manage to beat a team that has 15 on their injury list. Sure a couple of their players missing are above average players (Ryder, Hombsch) but out of our 15 out, 3 are rated elite, none of theirs are and more than 6 of ours that are missing are B22. 2 best rucks out (yep same), 2 best key defenders out (yep same), gun full forward (no, but we are missing last year's Brownlow medalist and another elite mid/fwd). No matter how he does the maths (obviously not his strong point) it wasn't their outs that cost them the win - they were pretty putrid and if anything, we should have won by more really.
