Without looking at the stats, I thought we did okay in the middle, though they got a couple of fast breaks. Around the ground Barlow and Blakely were good, as was Suban and Neale. Mundy was okay. Crozier earnt some more brownie points with a convincing display matched up against Neade I think, but Hill and Sheridan were up and down with at times awful disposal. Spurr took a number of great defensive marks like Ibbotson would but also provided rebound as well. Pav returned to the role of prominent forward, Taberner was okay, dropped a couple of marks but workrate was high. Ballantyne was the best of the smalls, though Walters, Mayne and Weller put influential pressure in the forward line.

They just pipped us in the clearances. We won the stoppages but they won the centre clearances 14-7

Feeling pretty flat atm since our season is over and the 8 is locked in. But I thought I'd pop over and say well done on 3 in a row.

We clearly didn't want it, You guys deserve the win 100%. If we gave the effort and unfortunately missed a few then it might be an honourable loss like last week vs the dogs.

For the last few weeks we had slight optimism on making the 8 off the back of going on some type of winning streak and hoping West Coast fall over.

But you guys gave our club a reality check and we are now forced to make some much needed changes tactically and changes to the players we field. Some of which have been passengers all year so now hopefully they get dropped.
Your senior players went missing and Grey was under the weather . If you had kicked straight we were in serious trouble

Given the poor effort we gave, If we did kick straight it would have been a paper over the cracks type of win.

I don't recall Robbie (Or Sam) Gray being sick? Boak was sick during the week but was fine for the game.

Great team effort .Even though Weller and Tucker were down on possessions they run hard all day . With 3 on the bench for the last quarter I thought the boys keep pushing the Power with their defensive effort and hard running .

Funny how different you see the game being at the ground. From where I sat it seemed like Clarke was dominated in the taps, but actually did the dominating.

Mundy disposal efficency @ 56% &
Hill disposal efficiency @ 63% is really not good enough from our 2 best kicks

My mistake about the players name but it was stated on the radio that he (Boak) was being used in the back line to ease his work load as much as possible due to his recovering health .

Man that rebuild was hard. Now I know how StKilda have felt for the past few years. Glad that's over

I feel good about next week. :D

There are only three more games that I really, really want us to win this year - Geelong, WCE, plus/minus whichever game is Pav's 350th.

I really, really, really want us to win the Derby.

I think sending Barlow back to peel , and gave him a running role/tagger is the best decision Ross ever make. Now Barlow got duo role in his game in the gut.

I really really really want us to win the derby too because I'm coming back to Perth to watch it!

Rubbish on the Dawson comment. Dixon is one of the leading contested marks in the AFL this year he had 8 possessions and kicked 1 goal.

I think Crozier was again really good across half back despite having two kicks smothered. Neale also superb obviously. I think Sheridan and Sutty have improved their performances massively over the last month. Mayne and Ballas have also lifted their rating over recent weeks. Clarke played well, admittedly against two undersized rucks. Hill and walters would probably be placed second and third (behind Neale) in best and fairest at the moment so it has to be a good sign we got a win with both down. The maligned pair of D.Pearce and Suban were both terrific too.
Agree with all this. Sheridan and Sutty while not standing out (except for a couple of nice things Sutty did) were very clean and precise in everything they did. Sheridan handled the ball really clean and did not give up one clanger as far as I could tell.
Hill redeemed himself with a big last quarter. Dan Pearce played one of his better games and Mayne was excellent again.
Barlow was immense. What a heart he has!

Stoked with the win. Can't help thinking that Port left us off the hook a bit with some of their misses, but we were still there and still good enough to work to advantage.

Same for Freo though, we should have had 3-5 goals more in q2. But fair to both teams, both put pressure on each other, enough to think there is less space, factored in with some great smothers and other defensive work.

Negatives ... Tanner he really looked disappointed as he would have worked so hard to get into the team. Feel for the guy.

Positives ... Connor will be a gun

Barlow probably best game by any player in the comp this season. You don't tag the oppositions best player and keep them to SFA and then kick 2 goals in a couple if mins plus rack up 43 mostly damaging possessions. Simply amazing

Losing stings, we've all been there, but how you lose is telling.

If I could work out a thumbs up squiggly thingo I would, but am feeling technologically challenged. But good onya!

Big development game from Lachie Neale after succumbing to Robinson's tag last week. Ebert went to him early but Lachie broke the tag. An irritated Hinkley confirmed in his presser that Ebert and Gray were sent to Lachie and Mick but they both failed so much that it looked as if the coaches hadn't thought to set tags on them.

If we keep wining Nealecould be a smokey for a Brownlow

No Fyfe to poach votes plus other teams haven't had 1 dominant player each week.

Don't think succumbed is the word you're looking for,or what actually happened.
Snake Crazy Robbo is probably the best hard tagger in the game since Creepy resigned his title.
Lachie took the dick to the forward line and all the other usual tagging distractions.
Lachie looks to me like a cross between Diesel and Mitchell, but better than both.
He's the talent without the dirt.

It was an odd moment in the game but the question was handled beautifully by the Boss.

Have you seen a free kick paid for throwing a shoe away from the contest before?
No. I have today. That's ok. You want to respect your opponents at all time and compete fiercely. I didn’t see it but I think it’s appropriate, it doesn’t bother me too much.

If he was just clearing the area, rather than throwing it away disrespectfully…
Well potentially, I am not too sure. But through someone else’s filters they interpret it in another way. I think we have to give them slack for that. They are under a lot of pressure and if that’s how they interpret it you back them in.
