We must watch two different games if you think Winderlich has precise kicking skills.. Im not saying Kades kicking is any better especially in front of goal (although his field kicking is fine), but I certainly wouldnt rate Winderlichs kicking as a strong point, let alone call it precise..

Then we must be watching two different games.

Potentially elite? you must be high. Kade simpson is the lesser of two hacks. But i can't bring myself to vote for him.

Kade is a pretty good kick off both sides actually. You rarely see him try to swing around to get on his left. Quite confident kicking on the right.

I think his kicking is under rated mainly due to the few absolute shockers he pulls of from time to time. But on the whole, when you look at it, I'd say he's a very good penetrating kick of a football.

Kades kicking for goal is Not good. Infact its disappointing. But like i said his field kicking is fine...

To the essendon people.. We must be watching different games then because winderlich is not a great kick. Especially for goal and its ceratinly not in the "precise" or "elite" category... I remember being at Optus Oval in 2009 pre season.. Essendon happened to be training so I stayed and watched... All i heard was Jobe and winderlich saying F$$K every time they missed a target and I heard it just about every time they kicked it..... If u say this is his biggest strength then clearly Simpson is the better player...;) Even I know winderlichs strength is his pace.. Surely you essendon supporters should know that..:o

Both frontrunners but Simpson without doubt has more impact Carlton's wins than Winderlich does on Essendon's

Have heard Winderlich is one of only a few designated kickers at the club. We look to get the ball into his hands at every opportunity. Just because he has pace, doesn't mean he can't kick also which is usually the case. This guy has superb skills and supreme pace, if can back up last season with another good season he'll be talked about a lot more.

With regards to the poll, good comparison. Have always liked Simpson with his run & carry, but at times just doesn't finish off his work enough. Winderlich in that department has him covered and for that reason alone, I'm gonna vote Winderlich. Both have brilliant pace and aren't afraid to take the game on.

Lol, you're just making this up champ :o

You obviously didn't watch any Essendon matches in 2009.

Don't know how important Kade is to the Blues but when Licha plays well the Dons generally win.

He breaks the lines, kicks goals and delivers precisely in to the forward 50 - if he's getting the ball 20+ times in the game, the Essendon coaching staff will be very happy indeed.

Thought Simpson would've been a bit better. Most inspiration as fill-in captain two years ago. Flew the flag quite a few times. Wonderful ability to break lines.

Anyway, I'm a Carlton supporter so I follow Simpson more.

I will say it again. Winderlich is a far far far better footballer than Simpson. Not saying Simpson is a dud cause he can play just no where near the same class or skill level as Winderlich

*Simpson is a pretty handy pickup for pick 45, I must say.

*Winderlich's gut running and breaking the lines if what impresses me most about him, and it can't be measured in stats.

I really like Winderlich.

However, I don't think Carlton lost a game last year when Simpson played well.

Many Carlton fans have called him a barometer to the team's success and they'd be right.

I think the difference between the two is almost as close it can get which is an indictment on the Essendon Football Club. Comparing a first round pick to a 'flyer' that Simpson was in the fourth round (most scouts and recruitment managers said Simpson was too small, not large enough frame, etc. to ever be a senior AFL player for any length of time) really shows that Essendon's drafting wasn't up to par that year.

Winderlich should be several times the player that Simpson is. However, for him to be marginally better (which he is) speaks volumes for how great a selection Simpson was.

Both are impact players at their best with both possessing the ability to turn a game of football. Neither are A graders and neither ever will be. However, both have the potential to be wonderful role players in premiership calibre teams.

For Carlton that's more than what we could have hoped for. However, Essendon would be little disappointed (despite the fact that Winderlich is a slightly better player).

The reason Carlton people are confused into thinking Kade is the teams barometer is the fact that when the Blues get on a nice run, Kade chucks on his ski's and hits the slopes like no other flog in the AFL.

Does this flog ever get a touch when the blues are getting flogged? NO. His ability to find a nice patch of snow when they are up and about however is perhaps second only to Murphy.

Genuine spud and should never be compared to players like Winderlich.

C4[2]Yo`Door just sited a game where Carlton was getting flogged that Kade Simpson came alive and made the difference.

While we ended up losing to St Kilda to that point in the season we played them closer than anyone had until that point. It wasn't until the Saints were winding it up at the end of the season that another team got as close (and ultimately defeated them) as what we had.

We spotted them a four goal lead and they were destroying us. I remember Simpson was almost B.O.G. that night when they took Judd out with the open wound that just wouldn't go away (spent much of the second half, especially last quarter on the bench getting cleaned up).

I'm just glad that your sig says it all -- Lulz ^ -- you laugh at your own post because you know how useless your own opinion is.

Made the difference? You lost.

Maybe the arrow should be pointing down because your post is probably the worst thing I have ever read on this site.

Kade Simpson is a down hill skier and the widest of receivers.

Probably going to Canada in a couple of months to represent Australia.

Collingwood sure know a lot about downhill skiiers.

Your whole club culture for the past 50 years is all about downhill skiing with one sorry ass fluke in the middle.

Your joke of a club is the worst thing I've ever seen when it comes to professional sports and downhill skiing.

Gutless to the end, that's the Collingwood way.

Bet your beloved Nathan Buckley sure is glad that he became the best downhill skier in Australian sporting history, by joining that pathetic football club to win premierships, only to see the team he left win three in a row and two against his heartless mob under his excellent leadership. He literally taught your entire team how to ski downhill when it counted most.

Guess that means your post does have credibility. You sure would understand how to judge the ability of downhill skiers.

Sorry Simmo, you're going to have to join the Pies now. Perhaps then you will achieve your crowning achievement in down hill skiing.

Wow. I think I actually made you cry.

Not at all. I think its hilarious when a Collingwood fan labels others as being downhill skiers when the history of their club is as miserable in that regard as any in the history of professional sports world wide.

I'm quite sure you did cry.

If you want to discuss Collingwood start a thread. Right now we are here to discuss Kade Simpson and his ability to find cheap ball once his team is on top. :thumbsu:

Lol @ Carlton supporters rating this piggy back riding, down hill skiing spud more than just somebody who likes to get a kick when the tides high.

Winderlich > Shitson

Can't agree with you there Sunny. Gibbs has 2nd spot. Simpson a nice no. 3.

Winderlich > Jessica Simpson
