Anyone tried making remote access VPN connections with Win 7 yet, specifically l2tp?
XP worked flawlessly, Vista has sporadic problems so just wondering if they've fixed it or if its now broken completely.

Got the Cisco VPN client to work on Windows 7 just fine.

Haven't read the entire thread just yet (no time)... but does anyone know how Windows 7 + games run? Specifically games like WoW and Age of Conan etc?

Any issues with it supporting these games (or do the games need patches)?

Cheers

I had a few audio problems with Left4dead but the latest update seemed to have fixed it. Don't know if it was W7 or the game but that same version played fine with Vista....meh!!

P.S. Does anyone know exactly what M/S did to make it so much quicker then Vista? surely it can't all be attributed to a much revised kernal!

Installed Windows 7 Build 7229 64 bit few days ago, seems more stable, faster as well. And they have included most drivers as well in the ISO, so far so good, Windows 7 will definitely be the best.

How do you find the compatibility issues with 64bit, is it a lot better now days?

I'm still a bit reluctant to try it at this stage

Nothing wrong with it. Windows 7 RC was my first 64bit OS and no issues whatsoever.

Best thing is that it allows you to utilise all your RAM if you have 4+ gigs

You can upgrade which means it keeps all your settings, documents, programs etc...but a clean install is also available and is preferred

Wce_all_da_way all drivers are the new versions, and it runs smoother and a bit quicker as well. As for upgrading I just do a clean install, I format my HDD and install it fresh. Reason being is that it takes too long to upgrade, up to 70 minutes or more I think. Have had no compatibility issues, no hangs, freezes etc. I am just waiting for the 7231 Build now, I think by the end of this week it will be released.

I am seriously thinking about going 64 bit but still a bit worried  Mind you I am hanging out for the latest RC version (64 bit included) to see if it corrects the serious problems I am having with all things audio and visual....Anyone else having these probs

If you have more than 3.5 gigs of RAM, then 64 bit should be a no brainer to utilise what you paid for.

There is no problem with drivers. All Vista 64bit drivers work if they haven't released a Windows 7 version.

The next version out apparently is either going to be RC 7200 (despite builds over 7200 already being released) or 7300. 72/300 is rumoured to come out very very soon.
